Looks like you have done a good job, I like it. How resistant is the black die and the silver paint to scratching? I painted the same parts as you on my dash and gear lever surround in silver and it sctatches pretty easily.

Nice work BRADEN.
Looks great, but yeah, you need to do something with the seats and carpet now! They stand out too much!
Oh one thing...line up your window winders...they're all over the shop! (Photo 3)

haha nah mate they are lined up, the drivers window is just down thats all!!!lol!!!hahahaha!!! im doing graphic arts at tafe so yeh, i know what design is and how to make stuff look good!!lol!

im still testing the silver paint! i did it properly with touch up plastic primer, then silver touch up paint, then touch up clear! so yeh hopefully it stays on there sthis time! the dash iv had no problems with scratching, it rarely gets touched tho really. the center console i just did with vinyl dye also although that scratches a bit. the gear shift surround started of life as black, then i did it silver before the air freshner liquid spilt on it an ripped the paint off! then i just did it blue to match the highlights i had done (although im now changing the highlights back to black [see other thread: Opionions Please.]). and finally its back to black and it dosent scratch at all!!

the seats as i said will be done hopefully in the near future!depending on how much the black material dye will cost me!!lol!

cheers

thanks everyone!

hey 6cylEA i'd do it for ya for a cheap price if you didnt live 8ish hours away from me!!lol!

i painted all the parts i did blue black again. looks a lot better. the button surrounds either side of the steering wheel are matt black and the other parts, ie. center air vents, ciggie lighter etc are gloss black, which still give the highlighted look i was after but ties in better with the black and silver. also i sprayed the needles silver too instead of blue, yay i can now see what speed im doing at night again!because the blue is so close to black at night, i had to really look hard to see the needles at night, but now that they are silver i can see!!I CAN SEE THE LIGHT!!!!LOL!!

i'll get some pics up in the morning with any luck!!lol!

cheers

You have done a good job of these, have you considered the window winder in black as well, and with the handles / latch black that out as well ( also black out screw heads ) with only the lever part left silver.

yeh i think it need a bit of contrast tho which the silver provides. im not really sure what your description of the door handle would turn out like?!iv blacked all the screw heads holding the door trims on, i always colour code screw heads ( i even sprayed the screws holding the number plate in white to match!!!lol!!!).there will be more contrast with the front pockets once there done in black suede.

Everything would be black except the lever, ( in silver ) a very similar look to BF GT interior type setup.

as it is it looks great and was only and idea.

in all...IM FINISHED MY DOORS!!!!!!!!long time coming! i was thinking of putting blue LED's in the door handles to light them up with the ignition light, but i think i'll just leave it for the time being!i'll do it later, maybe when i put footwell lights in!!

Jeez thats insane, well done mate! Certainly makes what was a dull interior look alot newer!

I think the question was asked before, and not answered (or I missed it) but what is it like with scratches?

Did you do some testing before hand?

hard plastics scratch pretty easy with vinyl dye as its not meant for hard plastics, the vinyl is pretty resistant, as long as you dont get a sharp object and start hacking away at it!lol! my g/f already scratched a bit out of the silver window winder, not notciable as the original window winder is light grey.
