It appears that my central locking has died as both our remotes are not working. Yes, I have changed batteries to check and no, it didn't work. Any ideas on what it may be?

You took too long/slow (/ too long dead) to change the batteries. Others have chamnged batteries ok - must be a maximum time limit somehow (30secs?).
This happened to me when the dealer changed the batteries for me (and one remote went kaput as well !!). I have an MB XR5 but is probably a different remote to yours TDCi. On my XR5..... The car was be re-programmed / re-coded with *both* remotes at the same time during a visit to my local firendly dealership. I'm not aware of any other workaround for the XR5. The whole lot (car + 2 keys) needed to be re-coded together. Another thread talks about how to do this . It talks about turning each key on/off 4 times in 5 seconds (or something like that). And is impossible to achieve when you have a START button and no normal ignition switch. |
