Question Trip Meter Readings Vary after Refill??

Lately, after filling up my WQ Fez, Zetec, the Trip Meter reads anywhere from 460kms on full to 580kms. But still returns around 8l per 100kms.. Fez runs fine. Just a computer glitch?
Cheers

It really depends on the driving style that has happened prior to the fill, mine will often read 600, then when I start the car in the morning it will read 680, I often get over 660 out of the tank, depending on the right foot.

Mine has never been anywhere near 600=680kms!!!! It is an auto and air con on most of the time. I drive sensibly, don't rev it etc.
I'll get it checked at next service, due April..

Mine is a manual and I don't drive with the air on very much.

You going to bring it out for the cruise on the 6th?

Fuel economy, my manual 1.6, always gets over 600 kms per tank, somtimes only just with air and a heavy right foot. Your change in readings is due to the average use changing, it recalculates fuel on that. So if you take it easy and then refill it will tell you over 600

this ^^^

it calculates on the last however many(??) kms it uses to arrive at a figure, so if you've been driving on the hwy or in bumper to bumper traffic, your DTE will vary. same if you've had a heavy right foot. best DTE i've seen on my XR4 is around 500. I have averaged 8.8l/100 since buying the car...
