Don't need to fill out any of that crap as I'm regarded as a "stone picker", not a truck driver.
Mawson's are a little more relaxed than others.
Years ago I did their hour induction course, show appropriate insurance, and trade qualification, yes, obviously PPE.

Just lately insurance has changed the rules and you need to be escorted up into the pit and after loaded back down to the weighbridge, despite having all the flashing lights and UHF on the trucks.

South Lima and most of the other quarries I deal with are similar thank f**k.

Still, what I consider to be the worst storm I have ever encountered living aboard on the marina in Newcastle, 2007.
Next morning we waded our way down the streets to get a look at the Pasher Bulker stuck at Nobby's beach. You could see the hull starting to hog on the sand.
We then got battered by a severe hail storm down there, while several of us sheltered under a towies tilt tray.

That night it went ashore we recorded 98kn wind gusts through our rigging with the Forgacs' floating dock, opposite the marina breaking loose from it's fixed mooring. 2 tugboat sat all night managing to hold it in position.

What a mess.

I was posted to ANZAC frigate Te Mana in 2007 and we went to Newcastle in July that year. I can remember a lot of shops were selling memorabilia over that. Was disappointed it had been re floated before we got there.

I think I have a phobia, called Submechanophobia. Despite that I can’t stop looking at pics of it and similar groundings.

That night of the storm they nearly lost another 2 freighters one stern grounded in the shallows off Stockton and powered itself off and another further south being pulled out to sea by the locally famous tugboat 'Koona".

I was also there when the HMS Nottingham ran aground out near Norfork Island, we watched it being towed stern first into Newcastle harbour, there was so much secrecy around the ship and its nuclear warheads they denied it was equipped with. Though our friend who drove for Sid Fogg Coaches confirmed that's exactly what it had by the British crew he was ferrying back and forth to Williamtown RAAF base.

Still have one of the HMS Nottingham Golf Club polo shirt the crew gave him.

Smoo you would probably like the less known story of the "Monarch of the Seas" near sinking and grounding off Norway back in 2019.

Being mostly couch grass, those images were taken in winter when it was dormant.

Lol, 25% of the sea going fleet gone just like that, China and Russia will be shitting themselves. DEI appointee sinks a $300 million ship of the coast of another country creating a potential environmental disaster, and the media praise her for a 'swift' evacuation that supposedly saved lives.

I can't say I've heard of it, and a google only brings up a grounding in the Carribean in 1998 but nothing else?

A couple of YT channels I like,

Took this pic in 2007 at Opua, decommissioned Leander frigate Canterbury before they sunk her in the Bay of Islands as a dive attraction and artificial reef. Jumped off the bow of it a couple of times in basic training.

Yes that was it ,wrong year, after taking a sick passenger off there.

Interesting I read in the YT comments the poor sick passenger in his 30's died shortly after being admitted to the hospital.
