Plants that have made it millions of years without human interference, I plant it in my garden and it misses 1 watering day and you would think you had cut its throat, then the lawn, don't get me started on the lawn

My lawn is struggling too. We havent had a decent rain in SA for months. Watering daily only helps a little.

I sow a new patch of grass on my lawn, been growing really good, but now looks like someone p***ed on it, streaks of dead grass.
Go figure.

Makes me feel sad for the dog, when I see a Kelpie in a city environment being walked on a lead.
I know they are more than likely highly cared for but these beautiful dogs need lots of land to run and tasks to keep their minds active.

Secretly hoping for a Kelpie win.

Kids screaming in supermarkets
Kids running around in supermarkets as if it's a playground
Don't parents believe in discipline anymore?

Some parents see it as free child care. As in, they come into the shop, then let the kids run riot. The parents then wander around knowing there will be other people around to stop the kids from doing something stupid or from going missing. In other words, its give the parent a break from being a parent. Thing is, I don't have children for a reason, I don't want to look after someone else's, or have to discipline someone's poorly behaved terror.

Often, these children would be running around knocking things over, making a mess of the gravel paths, or down in the fernery throwing rocks into the creek that took me considerable effort to create. Or throwing stones at the bird house.

All the while, the parent is oblivious to what's going on......................or they were doing their best to ignore it while I'm shooting daggers at the parent or the child.

Good news though......................I'm not in retail anymore!

I hate it in the Supermarkets when a large family group are shopping, they block the aisles, then when you want to get to a product they are huddled around the shelf you are trying to get too having a Council meeting trying to decide which product to buy.

One of the reasons why I order and have my groceries delivered, and have done for a few years now. No ques, no screaming kids, no isle congestion, no risk of being stabbed by the crowd of druggies out front, no parking, no parking 50km away to avoid someone parking next to you only to return and find some dork has in fact parked next to you......................................and so on and so on.

My local shopping centre has Aldi, Coles and Woolies. I usually hit Aldi first and then go to the others. I am finding more and more that some products I like are only available at one or the other of the big two, due to no longer stocking or out of stock.

I don't have the time, patience or will power anymore to do a grocery-shop tour, just want it over and done with.

I used to enjoy grocery shopping. It would be Coles, then next door to the independent fruit-veg-meat store. This was pre-Covid. As a risk mitigation, I started doing the weekly shop online and haven't gone back to instore since. Ordering over a price threshold and you get free delivery, so why not?

Have you ever thought about communication?
In a loud confident voice I just say, 'Excuse me coming through' or 'Could you pass me that jar of Vegemite' I know it sounds a bit old fashioned but thats how we used to do it and it still works in modern times.

Geez I hate that we're scared to talk to each other nowadays.

A nearby divided Road, 3 Lanes each side, 70 KM/H zone.
Bus Lanes operate in peak hours.
Lately a big increase in stupid drivers turning left from the centre lane.

But to be fair, that could happen at any time, from the moment it leaves the farm till it lands on a shelf.

I can't say I've ever had an issue with the freshness of the food delivered. If they were sending out aged fruit and veg, or any food item, it would have to be replaced at their cost (both product and delivery/labour), as such the send out fresh stock.

I get it though, I was the same in wanting to choose what to buy. But as I said, I haven't had a problem.
