I appreciate your time tho.

No problem, that's what I advised the administrators here as some eBay sellers sell less than what I can get for. So it does pay to check and shop around. Can only advise what i can get them or unfortunately.

Soz, GT, I wasn't complaining, if that's the way it came across.

Yes, you can only do what you can do, and I appreciate you taking the time to chase up the details for me.

Hi GTLEGEND,

aussiblue suggested I ask here to see if you can source a part for me.

I'm looking for SKU: 1L2Z-6622-AA It's the 'Engine Oil Pump Pickup Tube' which I believe was used on the Explorer 4.0L SOHC V6, among other Ford vehicles.

It's readily available in the US, but I need it quickly, so trying to source it in Australia.

Hi mate,

These are hard to find in Oz, I will have a look, but I suggest you try a dedicated Explorer wrecker (there are a few around) that also do new parts.

I will need check, but may take a while.

See what I can find.

GT

Hi GT,
Thanks for responding so quickly!

A friend who has connections with Ford Australia made some enquiries today and was told that Ford hasn't stocked the part here in Oz for many years. So I don't hold much hope.

Cheers,
Kevin

Hi GT,
Please don't spend any time on this.

I thought the one I have was cracked, and I just had a look to see what I could do in terms of repairing it with a view to replacing it at the next oil change, but on really close inspection with a magnifier I don't think it is actually cracked, I think it's just a moulding artefact that looks like a crack!

So I don't think I need one after all. Sorry to waste your time!

Howdy GT,

This may be a bit of a Hail Mary, but I'm looking for an Idle Speed Controller for my 1997 XH Falcon 4ltr. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask if any Genuine Ford NOS is still floating about, and if you even just happened to know the Ford part # that would be fantastic.

Cheers,
the Baminator

Just wondering if its possible to buy any FG Falcon Airbag to replace my current one.

Airbag hasn't blown but the Horn Pad Cover has a split down the middle and wanting to replace it.

Is it a direct insert onto the steering wheel or do i need to do more?

All standard FG FG2 FGX Air bags are the same, there was a difference with the FPV ones being the centre badge, but theoretically still fit.

They are held in by 4 bolts at the rear of the steering wheel.

You must ensure you depower the system by disconnecting the battery and waiting time for the power to de-energise.

How ever I would not recommend replacing anything airbag unless you are really qualified and know what your doing. Could end in disaster.

sorry GT but the FG/SZ airbags are not held in with 4 bolts. it clips in and a 'spring' holds the lower part in. to remove power down the cars systems (or at least the airbag systems) then i used a small torx allen key inserted in the hole at the base of the steering wheel airbag to release the clip so airbag 'pops' free. this is what i do to remove my FG airbag fitted to my BA - as per Gothefalcons instructions ().

just make sure the airbag connections are correct as i found the SZ connector is differant (one of em to bag).

cheers

Correct, those spring tabs are held in with bolts, I was trying to explain without confusing the OP..
