Default professional photo scanning

hi all
i dont know where to start with this so thought i would ask some opinions

i have some extremley important and irreplaceable photos of my dads racing career and want to have these photos (some which are over 45 years old) professionally scanned rather than scanning them myself, so they are of high quality, and so all my family can also have an electronic copy of these pictures as well.

there fore i was wondering if anyone has any recommendations or if there is somewhere you could hire a high quality scanner in order to do this.

i aslo have a huge amount of paper clippings that i would also like to scan and keep a record of electronically

thanks
Narelle

Best places to try would probably be some photo processing places. Perhaps talk to a photographer and see where they get their prints done.

Did our wedding photos on the scanner at home, at very high DPI they came out great, the rest were pulled from the negatives on the same scanner.
