Default Service Spanner

Sorry all as this question must have been posted thousands of times before!

My AU Fairmont was serviced just before 170 000km. Now it has ticked over this mark the serviceing spanner has appeared on the odometer.

What is the simplest way in turning this off so I don't have to look at it until it's next service is due?

with the key on, but the engine off, hold down the trip reset button until it dissapears, keep in mind that this also resets the tripmeter. this is for a falcon tho, not sure if yours is the same. it does tell you in the owners manual
