Default V6 commodores with CHEV badges...huh?

today i spotted a black v6 vt commodore and the owner has taken the holden badges off and put on chevy badges, now correct me if im wrong but they are in fact Buick motors arent they? fair enough if its a v8 of course..I guess Buick badges arent as cool

is it just me or should somone whos gone to the length of changing badges would know a little about their car? they come off as clueless twits to me

Rant finished...

Try to ignore them if you can. There's an MR2 in my area that has Ferrari badges plastered all over it. Didn't even bother to remove the Toyota badges. If they're trying to pretend they're car is American then I think they're issues would be too great to bother worrying about, if you know what I mean. Besides, its sik mate. (sorry, just had to say 'sik' in this post somewhere)

I saw a 180SX the other day with a Ferrari mock up kit on it. You could be forgiven for thinking it was a Ferrari. If it weren't for the stickers on the window and the bling wheels I wouldn't have known what it was.

A Matiz, no matter how you brand it is a POS. I for one would not like to be on the receiving end of a signicant punt in one of those things!

I know a yank that gets upset when the VN-VR engine is called a Buick motor.. He says it's a GM engine. But anyway the VN-VR had the buick, But the VT-VY had the Ecotec which was built I'm told by chev if that's true?.
But I'm also one that hates too see them chevs badges on holdens.

Maybe one of the weirdest things i have ever seen on our roads was a VS Commodore executive with a ford badge on the rear. I think the driver was confused.

I thought the Ecotec was built here in South Australia, the same place were the newer 3.6 motor comes from.
Anyway, Chev never used the ecotec as they continued to use derivatives of the buick 3.8 motor.

Nah, its silver. The best thing about this car though, is an old guy owns it. I mean, what the hell? I can imagine some 17 yo punk doing it 'coz its fully sik mate, the chiks love it mate...' but I would have thought that someone ,by the age of 60, would have more integrity than that.

I saw a fully badged Vauxhall Corsa this morning, with 1.4 badges and everything. I think this one might have been genuine. Although I don't know which is a bigger waste of money, getting vauxhall badges shipped out from the UK or getting a Corsa (British name for a Barina) shipped out from the UK.

The V8 engine was originally based on a Buick design (it is now designed here in Oz), but the V6 was originally a modified Chev engine. It is now designed here in Oz too, but is still built on a Chev block.

The fact they bought a Holden should immediately tell you they're lacking in the IQ department!
