Default Standard EA fairmont alloy wheels help

Ok Im going to be getting my EA series II fairmont soon, but one thing i noticed is that it had the original Alloy wheels on it.

These ones(click here)

But like in the picture they were kinda dull looking, Im not sure now if its because they are ment to be a gone metal grey or if its because they are dirty type thing, are they meant to be shiny?

anyway if so, whats the best way to shine them up? now if not, id like them to be shiny like this here

They seem brighter and smoother, is there a way of chroming the wheels up at all?

anyway thanks heaps

The wheels are nicknamed Turboblades, and you can take them to a metal polisher and get them to come up almost like chrome.

They are maybe just dirty, but you can strip the clear coat and polish to mirror like finish, or pay someone to do it for you.

polish them yourself is a HUGE amount of elbow grease.

strip the clear coat (paint stripper)
using sandpaper sand them back using 800, 1200 then 1600
then autosol polish them till happy with the finish.
either use an electric drill and burn the autosol in to keep the shine, or clear coat them again.

I'll have to use it on my turboblades. They're pretty scratched up. 5 minutes a rim! That's awesome!
