Question EL transmission

hey,
i have looked everywhere but cant seem to find any information on servicing EL auto trans and by that i mean dropping the pan, changing gasket, filter and fluid. As there is no trans fluid dipstick i dont know what is going on down there. I found articles but the all finnish by saying "top up fluid at the dipstick"...as i dont have one what do i do? and i dont mind working on the car but i like to have some knowlege before i attempt this stuff.
cheers,
hayden

Aren't they a sealed unit?

Gregory's car manuals may help.

the car needs to be jacked up (hoist is best) stands will be alright, but the front & back need to be jacked up cause the car needs to be level

first undo the trans pan starting from the front and work your way back (dont undo the 3 bolts on the back of the pan yet, let oil drain out first) also you may get drenched in oil, try not to though. now take the pan off the whole way (oil will still drip out) remove the the clip across the filter (note how it come off), remove filter, green seal will probably get stuck in oil hole so pull that out, fit new filter, refit clip. Now clean out the pan using degreaser or something like that, clean the magnet (remember which position magnet is in), now clean surface of auto where gasket sits, fit pan & new gasket together (do up every 2nd bolt & work your way around, so pan doesnt warp) dont do bolts up super tight they will break if too tight, just until they stop turning firmly, now remove 16mm fill plug on drivers side of auto towards rear of auto, fill up with TQ95 automatic transmission fluid until fluid comes out of plug hole, refit plug, start car, run through all gears a few times, remove plug again check level, top up again so fluid is just dripping out of plug hole, refit plug, and thats it

sorry about the long post, hope its helpful

if car isnt level, trans fluid will all be at the back of the auto, if you remove plug while only front of car is raised you will lose most of your trans fluid
