Ford bashin mother outlaw - EF aircon dramas

As it says above, mother outlaw has had a ef fairmont ghia wagon from new.
2 times already the condenser unit of the aircon behind the dash has ruptured, all her whinging about it drives me insane.

Is there an after market part anybody knows of, as the last fella said that model was prone to this problem.

Any help appreciated..Cheers

Never heard of them being 'prone' but I do belive an AU one will fit.

I think they are all the same, the main thing to check apart from size, is the inlet/outlet pipes, ford like to change them, them the whole job just gets worse.

Special order ghia wagon . has been a nice car but has had a few problems in its later life,

The only reason I can think it has ruptured would be its over gassed, so when the gas expands when used it cases the problem.

Wont name the installer, but it lasted only 4 months the first time and now it has been approximatly 2 years. could be just bad luck or as you say, overgasing. will mention this to the mother outlaw.

Yeah..... sounds like an EF-EL. :(

Does the A/C get used all year round???
We had major problems with o-rings dying.
If the A/C is only used half of the year, the o-rings dry up. (no oil)
Then when you crank it up in the heat of a hot day the seal is gone and it causes the unit the crack and fail.

Yep, your spot on with some of that, they have climate control which is on all the time which brings aircon on in winter as well if nessesary.but that is its job i suppose.
Ea2ba has suggested an au one, which i have told the outlaws to suggest to the fella's doing the job.
