Default Its Uruguay again !!!

Well Uruguay made 5th place in the South American group.
so Australia has to play them again over 2 legs to qualify for next years world cup in germany.

Lets hope they doit this time, been too long since they qualified.

We have a chance, but it wont be easy at all.

next time Aus will be in the Asian confederation, means better opposition and direct qualification.

if Gus can get our best team on the paddock we have a sniff... Do we play away first, that'd be better for us I think.. Trying to drag a result out of the second game in Uruguay scares me.. I am going to the next cup if we make it or not

we will qualify...and the new league is 10 times better than the old league...i have some taped games from the old NSL..and was comparing...skill levels LOT better.

Guus made the right decision to make dukes the captain....hes committed to playing for this country...unlike poster boy harry kewell.

Go the socceroos!

I would have to stay on the fence on this one. Due to the fact that Uruguay are good. But hey I still will cheer for the aussies. The hopes of Australian soccer have been dwindling for quite some time, Just my little say.

mrs casper ur right...the head says uruguay have played tougher oppostion than us for the last two years...while we played the Solomons, but the heart still hopes for a miracle of sorts. Im going to the WC...and having the socceroos there would make it so much better!!!!!

not going for brazil..give someone else a go guys. Dont like the germans...they play a boring, yet effective style...but i dont care. Used to live in US..so want them to do well..so the game gets bigger there...

And i dont want italy to win. Im sorry robbie baggio was my fav player, and he deserved a win, but didnt get one..so dont want them to win one till hes dead and gone.

they wont win unfortunately...i dont mind england...but they struggled against poland today. And no disrespect to polish fans here...they arent an elite team. England just cant get it together, talent wise they are so much better than last time around, but dont look as good as a team...who knows maybe they will improve by the time WC comes around

'ol me is still playing and my 2 boys...the A leaugue is heaps better compared to the previous years, we Are getting better but it will still be a tuff assignment.
This new coach is made of the right stuff compared to the negative game plans Farina had set, it drove me nuts watching them play.
All the best guys....

Unfortunately i think brazil win win it again, last time they didnt have a great team, but got lucky as all the favorites went out early,Italy, Argentina France.
this time Brazil has an awesome team.

If Brazil dont win it then its wide open.
ITALIA !!!!!

used to play, was keeper in thge last few years of playing. till within the last three games tore a muscle in my back so i couldnt kick with myleft foot, so had to start with the right, then last game went up and over someone and landed on my shoulder injuring that to ad to all the niggling ones so took a year off....still on that year off some 6 years later! and the shoulder is still not great!

but on topic, not sure about the aussies, but will be cheering and maybe might even go to the qualifier to cheer em on!

When are the 2 games going to be played ? Hopefully i wont be busy and will be able to pull an all nighter for the away game. On that note i do think the aussies have a chance, we wernt to far behind last time (if i remember correctly) and seeing our new league and what seems to be as being an improvment in skills, we might just have the edge over those Sth Americans...fingers crossed

well, sadly Ireland didnt make it, but we had our chances and blew them. i hate the way Australia has to qualify. Oceania should be scrapped completely and the Asian groups should be expanded, with direct qualification. lets face it, there is no serious competition in Oceania, so by the time we have to play a South American team, we have not had a decent game and our second string team has got us there. At least in an Asian group, we would get much better competition along the way, which would put us in a better position should we get to the finals. as it stands, if we get to the finals, we will be coming home after the group stages.

but, Uruguay first...Cmon Australia.

RSjerry...am isure u know...that that have helped out australia, and starting from 2006...asutralia will be a part of asia, and will qualify that way...it wont be any easier, but the game here will improve..because of the quality of opposition. Australia wil be involved in the asian championships...like the euro champsionships...and our club soccer teams will play in the asian champions league...more money and more skills.

Shame about ireland...they had their chances like you said...Sad end for Roy keanes international career.

ar3nbe australias qualifier are during nov 16th and 19th i think. We play away first( hoping for a draw, and then a win at home....)

Sorry guys, as a Uruguayian I have to say. You got bugger all chance of winning. The Aussies do have a better team but so do the Uruguayians. We beat Argentina to be here and have beaten Brazil before at home.
