Its about how certain events lead to rises in oil prices which affect the economy of America. Basically starts off with the hurricane affecting supply. Its a whole chain of events. It shows how it affects everyone and not just motorists.

Pretty sure it is a Premiere. I thought it was good viewing. It relevant to current events especially seeing as though Winter is dawning on America now when oil demand is high. I sure hope nothing like that ever eventuates.

Chances are the movie actually underestimated the effect of oil prices going above $100/bl

http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/

Oil is a key input for economic growth. Our entire financial system is based on economic growth.... taking on debt assumes you will have more money tomorrow than you do today. No cheap oil = no growth = no repayment of debt. The US foreign debt currently grows several billion dollars per day (ironically a lot of it coming from china!).

Above article spells it out nicely. Also debunks most, if not all of the alternative fuels. Very well referenced too.

Be afraid.

Just to add perspective to this, keep in mind you get scared if you cant wear your Flintstones pyjamas to bed, or your Big Bird nightlight bursts a bulb.

Yep it is a good link. For all those who think oil prices only affect motorists read this link. No matter what fuel you fill up with you still pay for it somewhere else.
