Default Firewall

Im lookin at buyin a 'Rolla.

The owner said that the firewall had a crack in it but it has been fixed.

I was wondering if this is anything to be worried about and what would cause it to crack?

Thanks.

I'd be slightly(read: f**ken) worried. A vital part of cabin structure being damaged, let alone cracked shows the car may have been in a major prang and there could be other issues with it that could arise later..

What are the details of the rolla (model, engine, shape etc)

And keep walking.

Buy an EA if you have to.

If it's a manual it might be from the clutch (a lot of EA-ED had this problem). If fixed right it shouldn't be a problem.

exactly what i was thinking.. I know the AU's also crack on the firewall near the footrest on the autos for some reason.. If it has been repaired properly its nothing to worry about, he had the honesty to tell you, so I'd image he has confidence it has been repaired correctly
