Cool police radar

Just seen the new radar on the news. The thing is very tiny and hard to see. They plan to use it on the gold coast, they want to get rid of all the hoons . They are also planning to get the early birds. _2:

Sits on top of the dashboard drivers side also has control unit ont dash centre.
Its about the size of the V8 supercar fuel and tyre lights, control unit about the size of radio.
They reckon the current radar detectors can't pick it up.

our taxes are being wasted on fat n lazy cops that would rather sit on their butts all day watching car speeds than looking for bastards taking what they want from other peoples house/vehicle.

ahem... i mean... its a great idea!

I saw something like this ages ago in victoria, they must have been only evaluating them because I only see the old ones with the box out the front these days.

It wont be long before nobody will be able to speed anywhere (except on tracks).

I think that soon they will change the laws that says (at least in NSW) they have to tell you when they using cameras, so they can hide them, and have unmarked cars with radar/laserhead units you cant see.

They will make micro sized speed cameras in small posts on road side or even fitted to "cats eyes". They will use those truck elapsed time cameras for everyone. Use cellular or sat links to relay the details back to a central PC, your fine is inthe post before you even get home.

The technology is all there, look at those tiny cameras usedin F1 TV coverage and home PC webcams. All they need is a couple of bad car crashes to get the shockjocks Newspapers and Channel 9 onside nd they will start changing laws again "to protect us all".

Maybe they should go back to the red flag act.

I reckon they will have GPS (or similar) systems attached to new cars and kits fitted on older cars on registration in future. They will be able to track where you car is at any time during the day.

So people voilating rego will be immediately known of, cars getting stolen will be able to be tracked and speeding fines will be immediately sent to you based on known speeds of roads and the actual speed you are traveling.

except GPS still screws up a lot and will be easy to remove, disable or just plain shield the antenna so it all looks legit.

Or after it and hidden by the car! Don't speed when you see a white landcruiser parked on the side of the road in QLD

I rekon if they started fitting cameras to wheelie bins in vic we'd get some drunken/silly twit smashign them as they drove into it with their car!
Down the road from me bout 6months agoa copper was sitting in his car doinbg the usual speec checks, got some guy who was VERY drunk; he turned around n plowed right into the front of his mistsubishi undercover car, cop was in hospital for a month!

Not doubting you mate, but can we get some sort of confirmation to this?

As a speed camera is worth about $70,000 or more depending on the model (so I'm told) and the fact that a unit like this could be easily tampered with (wheeled off) they must have someone sitting around near it.

Any GPS system they fit in my car will promptly be removed in an underground carpark and left there.

Think about what your E Toll is......not hard for it to read 2 sensors, and the given time across the 2 points......keep them in the glove box wrapped in alfoil.....

when will they learn about driver training ? stop ****ing around raising revenue and do something better with your time ie, train drivers properly, fix the roads, when will the government learn that motorists will only take so much crap before it all hits the fan

Thev'e done it in NSW to! (maybe a trial?)

Old Pacific Hwy a few months back, a wheelie bin was on the side of the road looking rather suss (as no houses in sight). A couple of riders checked it out, had a camera inside it (small hole cut in bin). Anyway said wheelie bin was carried 100m down the road and thrown over the side of a steep enbankment never to be seen again

No more wheelie bins have been seen on the old road since...
