James May to Host Car Show

" JAMES May has a job! The former Top Gear co-host is moving on from the Jeremy Clarkson "fracas" scandal to present a new BBC Two show about car manufacturing.

It might not sound quite as exciting as his antics with Clarkson and Richard Hammond but Building Cars Live will see the 52-year-old presenter join Kate Humble and Ant Anstead to explore life inside the Oxford BMW Mini plant.

Two 90-minute episodes will show how a new car is built every 67 seconds while also considering the history of global car-making and how robotics is changing the industry.

A man of few words, May simply said: "I can't wait to build a car. Live."

Kim Shillinglaw, BBC Two controller, added: "Broadcasting live from the car factory is a really exciting way to reveal the science, engineering and expertise behind the cars on our roads."

Sadly this means that May is no longer unemployed and his YouTube channel may start looking more sparse - we're going to miss all the recorder playing and cooking masterclasses.

Clarkson, whose BBC contract was not renewed after he assaulted a Top Gear producer in March, claimed yesterday that he had been offered a return to the hit motoring series just days before the job went to Chris Evans.

Clarkson said he turned the chance down because a BBC executive had compared him to Jimmy Savile, but the BBC has denied this.

The final Top Gear with Clarkson, Hammond and May airs on Sunday 28 June on BBC Two, while auditions will be held to find co-hosts to join Evans in the new line-up. "

So I Googled Kate Humble,
"Katherine 'Kate' Humble is an English television presenter, mainly for the BBC, specialising in wildlife and science programmes. She was also the President of the RSPB until 2013."
Lots of credentials for a car show, unless she does it in a bikini or something.

If you ever watched the old Top Gear you'd also recognise her as one of the host's... She specialises in natural resources and still works with Land Rover

Sounds like an interesting show. A bit like the mega factory series which I enjoy watching. I guess we won't be lucky enough for James to do a take at Broadmeadows...

Hamster has also done a lot of docos, but yes, May is simply better. He injects a lot of his personality and humour into it. Hamster is basically reading a cue card and sounding like a professional voice-over guy.

He did an Action Man toy story not long back (the funniest one in the series IMO), and most recently, Cars of the People, a historical doco about the rise of car usage since its invention.

Have been viewing a series with Ant Anstead called 'for the love of cars' this guy is an amazing coach builder.
Has a business building bespoke cars for the rich and famous.

I recently watched a James may top gear special on the "peoples car"
plenty of humour mixed with actual facts,

I actually think Clarkson is easier to replace

The People's Car series was great! He's also done a science show called Things You need to Know. I highly recommend it.

may has a no compete cause for the remainder of 2015, so they cant announce the new netflix "clarkson hammond and may car show(working title)" produced by andy wilman.
