Default Dad's car

Came across this story on another forum. This one is for the true car enthusiast and what a car means to some people. It's not just about the car, it's about the memories that the car was a part of.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the next 5 minutes

Fantastic video and the story is very touching. You are right. It's not just a car, but it's the memories from the years that car spent in the family. It becomes paret of your life. It great to see how much the car mean't to their father and how much their father means to them.

That's brilliant. A lot of people say a car is just a car. Well as proven by this video, it's not just a car. It's part of your life, part of the family.

Which is why a lot of us are so willing to spend lots of money on our cars.

Cars do become part of the family. I guess it is because of the memories they help create. They take you places, help you meet new people who can become friends, times spent around the bonnet fixing it or hunting down a part or mod for your car....They are never just metal, glass, plastic and rubber to me.They are memory makers

Thanks for posting up the video.

Cheers
Col

That's why I have the old man's XE sitting unregistered in my shed. It's not just a car, it's also the memories of my late father and the trips we had in that car.

Made me think whether I would sell the car back to them if I had it in my possession and had formed my own memories and connection in the time I had it

reminded me a bit of my old mans HK,only new car he ever brought and was spose to be my first car we spent a few years fixing it up together but some mongral stole it for a joy ride and unfortunately left it outside rockdale police station in a police only zone where im pretty sure the boys in blue stripped it well according to the neighbours they did.

This was in the early 90s before the muscle cars took off in value and my old man not having a lot of spare dosh at the time let go what was left to the wreckers.
