If you are after a genuine comparison I suggest you post it up.
As the thread sits now I see a troll. |

I'd want to see comparisons which show the car you want, and the car from fords stable you're comparing it with. If you are comparing an old XF to a VE...well...I still think you'll like the XF more!

Tough choice, Luxury with a bangin V8 or the brilliant FG with a not so brilliant V8.

Test them back to back, make your decision from there.

Slap your mate in the face, throw him a few months patience, then drive him to an FPV dealer and into a coyote gt.
You'll never need to worry about this sort of thing again.

I don't think I would ever buy Holden over Ford but my only weak point is I don't like how Ford utes have a separate tray to the cab and I like how the Holden utes flow in one piece. As for Gt v 307, I agree with Iggypoopin, wait for the Coyote!

It's really a matter of personal preference. Each car has it's good and bad points.
The Holden has some oldschool V8 grunt, and is quite popular. Whereas the Ford may cause unnecessary stress when you have to try to work out what to do with the extra time you have spare not running back and forth to the dealership to glue bits of interior panel back on. In all seriousness, choosing between a Ford and Holden is preferable to choosing between local and import or between two imports.

Gee it would be hard for me to walk past a Calais V Sportwagon 6.0L V8 over nearly any Ford in their lineup.

Long term owners of both will note that the FG probably has a slightly better ownership experience given the more intuitive intrerior ergonomics and a less out there approach to exterior design and being a slightly younger platform on higher quality components.
However given that he's looking at the second hand market cars, I'd go for the one that represents the best value. (Thats probably still the GT though)

Tell him to drive both cars back to back, only he can make the right decision. He needs to be happy with his purchase now and in 1-2 years time.
