bought a au series 2 futura classic last friday. driving the car home from car yard the car made a whining noise at 100km/h however once i got to 102km/h the noise dissapeared. what could this possible be?
the car is under statury warranty and the car is going to ford on friday the 18 August 2007 to have the power antenna repaired and the bulbs in the lCD readout. should i mention the whining noise to ford since the car yard has allowed me to take t to ford to get repaired under statury warranty. |

You'll find it's probably the diff. It is a common problem that Ford is aware of, so your statuary warranty should cover it. I had mine replaced for the same problem with only 300 klms on the clock, no questions asked.

i beleive by doing google searches that this a common fault with the AU Diffs. If they replace it under warranty no dought i will have the same problem again.
how long does it take ford to swap a diff over? would it be easier for ford to rebuld this diff or replace it? |

I believe it is just the bearings in the diff, it was for me anyway. $500-600 job, should take about a day...

yep mine does it right on 95km/h i was stupid and didn't end up taking it back for replacement under warranty. now out of warranty.
