Mate borrows the car and ....

well i got a mate who has been borrowing my car for a bit and he just rang to let me know he got it washed and polished today, should i be happy or angry.
i actually ****ed a bit cause he when he went to miranda fair he took it to the place at the valett undernearth and got them to do it.
i just hope they didnt scratch the outa the paint or use and chemicals on the windows just got them tinted.

dont know if im glad he tried or ****ed he did it with out asking, problem is he sorta the guy whos liek i got it washed u should be happy but im like they use wash and polish and dont care.

anyways thats my little vent,

I think you should be happy. He wanted to do something to say thanks and had good intentions. You can't really fault him for having good intentions... can you?

i cant knock him at all for how he treats it, but u know how there is the one thing that u liek doing cause u get it dont properly well that was wahsign and looking after it. but all cool till i see it

i know i should be gratefull but that place stuffed a mates paint a few years back

Not really, if they stuffed the paint that's a few grands worth of damage.

Be grateful! He washed it, better yet, he paid someone too.. he's contributing to the economy.

Do you worry about roads he drives on, the air the car breathes? the non demineralized rain that hits it?

I understand where you are coming from. I would never allow anyone else to wash my car, least of all a commercial carwash joint. I have seen plenty of cases of the damage they have caused to vehicles and their parts - like weather shields, mudflaps, aerials etc snapped off or damaged. And they don't clean the car properly anyhow - using recycled water that is full of dirt and grit. I have never seen one yet that has proper filtration.

Best thing to do is thank your friend and point out as politely as you can why you wouldn't choose to go to a carwash yourself. Hopefully he then won't repeat his mistake. Especially if you put it nicely to him that if he does it again he will lose part of his "manhood". LOL.

I agree with the above, while the gesture is nice I think I would freak out. Hell sometimes I dont trust myself washing the car!

However I'd never lend my car in the first place unless a deposit was paid.

hes borrowing it on and off for a while his missus left him and took the car and i have a company car so he can use it when eva but he drops it back to me every night.

how do i wash it.
well i got RO water setup at home so i use that to rinse it down and several buckets with both clean and carwash shampoo in it, lots of rinsing. All undercover aswell. not that im sure any of it can make a difference but i like doing it that way.
and do it weekly just for when u ask that.

I just think your mate thought he was doing a nice thing for letting him use your car. He may not be up on washing and polishing techniques, who to see and where to go, but I think it was probably a nice gesture on his behalf. Maybe you should just set down the ground rules before he takes it. Washing is not necessary. You prefer to do the washing yourself. Maybe just suggest that if he wants to clean the car, then give it a vaccum and a tidy up inside.

yeah i did that, we are all cool and all now lol as i said just fill her up thats all i ask, i mean his missus left him took half his house and cash its the least i can do lending him my car and i dont want anything in return.

i was just angry when he told me about doing it and wanted to see other peoples reactions to it, i have chilled about it now.

anyways it was like u said a nice gesture and all
