wasn't a belting and imho the Poms aint worthy of any CUP
a team that kicks their way to wins isnt a team imho

we out played them and scored and they played purely of penalties, they won yes but worthy of that win no.

i hope kiwi's hit em hard and that little sh#t who kicks for england breaks his leg.

Well i am totally against that!

Yes i wanted australia to win but we were outplayed last night... and no way did Johnny Wilkinson win it for them cause he didnt kick any dropgoals they were all penalties..... and he probably missed as many kicks as Mortlock did!!

Winning's winning, you go out there and play to the rules and try to get points on the board however you can. We simply weren't good enough, Mortlock can't hit the side of a barn and if we can't take advantage of the rules that say you can get points on the board from kicking its our own fault.
The fact of the matter is, whether you like it or not the English played the game of rugby union better than we did

I wouldn't say we outplayed them, they smashed us in the scrums & in the rucks, we didn't give enough support at the breakdown. Watching NZ showed how to do it, I saw them have 25 phases of play due to pressure on the French - who it must be said were resisting the pressure magnificently as well. I thought we did pretty well against the English rolling maul though, when we did get clean ball to the back line they did well too.

I too would like to see NZ win.

I wouldn't have minded seeing South Africa win (like in 95 or thereabouts), but that country is now run like the funny farm.

So NZ all the way.

Thats what was great about the Americas Cup. They stopped showing it pretty quickly after we were beaten so after 2 days nobody even cared.

some poor reffing decisions went against use, again. but i agree, the poms arnt a well rounded team, they rely on wilkinson way to much, as was proven when they played tonga, the tongans took him out and they caved, only won, again by a wilkinson penelty goal once he managed to get back on

sorry guys but the poms outplayed us across the park. for 10 minutes we played rugby and looked like a world cup team [and scored in the corner] but for the other 70 minutes our scrum was lacking, we went missing in the breakdown and were not capable of playing past the second phase.our forwards were pretty p!ssweak.

as for the "best team in the world" the all blacks they should have a world cup motto WARNING CHOKING HAZARD EXISTS. lol.

Watched most of the game, know little about rugby, but Australia seemed to drop the ball a lot, ref always seemed to penalize us and that constipated bloke who kept kicking goals annoyed the hell out of me. I thought rugby was about running the ball across the line. Still the world's toughest game.

Watching Australia v England last night just reinforced my hatred of Rugby Union and bewilderment of how people actually follow it, especialy over League. Totally clumsy, sloppy and playing for penalties.

yeah it's not as "professional" or as polished as the rugby league world cup. who's going to win it next year SERBIA or LEBANON ,they are great rugby league nations. it's almost as legitimate as america's NFL WORLD SERIES.

First it is clear that there are some with the negitive comments do not understand the game.

Second, Australia and NZ where two teams playing a game under emence preasure to perform to their countries expectation to win. Those players are heros in a lot of peoples eyes and they performed well. NZ made mistakes and clearly under preasure to win. I know what its like because I am one of those suporters who is quick to turf the AB jersy back the closet and become embarrest to wear it. Its called pride and its stupid because win or lose you should still be proud of who you are and whom you suport.
I have seen in the past 18 years of living in Australia, its people become more and more pastionate about suporting its colors who represent them on the world circuit.
I think the spirit of the game was lost for both the Wallabies and the All Blacks to the need to win and be so succesfull in the eyes of its suporters. The fear and preasure of back lash and heavy critisism is a huge wait on them and regardless of their lose, should be commended.
Oh how we write them off when they are not winning. I will not be putting my AB jumper in the closet thats for sure, I know they played well. The Aussie game I did not see but knowing how the Poms play I am not suprised. I guess they played a flat game putting preasure on the fords and thus shutting their backs down. This flat play gives way to little johny and his boot.

Good luck to the Scotts and the Fiji teams

England absolutely demolished us.

The Australian pack was shown up for the bunch of pretenders they are. For a while now we have relied on back line brilliance as a band aid for frankly, weak forwards.

We were truely pathetic at the breakdown, i lost count of the number of turnovers.
If you cant win a scrum on your own feed you will be up against it.

Its time for a complete clean out. Back to basics. Unless you can get the set pieces sorted then the big $$$ backline is useless.

England rattled us with their aggression and physicality. There is a lesson in this for us.

If the ARU wants to buy further league players i would seriously look to the ARL forwards - the Wallabies need a bit of mongrel.
