Default EF Oil pressure high?

I've noticed my Fairmont EF (160,000 km) is indicating the oil pressure at the top end of the gauge, just in the orange and sometimes just below the orange.
I could understand if it was low but the high reading makes me think it's just a faulty sender.
Can anyone throw some light on this one?
Thanks
