Default Replacement Fuel Pump Any Good?

Im considering buying one of these replacement fuel pumps for my AU. It looks identical to the origional. Is made by GTAustralia.

Has anyone had any experience with these pumps? (they are about 1/5 the cost of a new Ford pump.)

Appreciate any advice.

They look okay, but the last one bought was by this guy below. His feedback was "satisfied with transaction". I reckon contact him via eBay and ask him how it panned out.

Let me know how you go, as I'm interested in replacing one also.

Cheers,

These ones are on eBay as well - not sure whether they're any good though:

You use their member name and contact them via the site. One of your options is to contact a member IIRC.

If you go to the site you listed, and look at the seller's feedback, you'll see the dude that last bought one. Click on his name and see how you go.

I have just recieved an answer from 2004terrye as follows - Dear laurie0744,

Have fitted pump and is working fine. Before you purchase check electrical plug on top of tank as mine was corroded on one pin which caused old pump to fail. Have cleaned this connection and all is well.

- 2004terrye

Hope this helps someone out there, it did help me, Regards, Laurie.

I bought one of the AU v8 fuel pumps anyway, quality looks good, it appears identical to the origional except one of the pickup hoses is different.

I just re-fitted my new Walbro, got it about $145 delivered from cyberspace auto parts. Had a good look at it before/during installation- it has the metal gears n all the stamping on the case seems to be correct. Can't remember if it was a 341 or 342 but either would work. I ended up mounting at a slight angle with hose more or less straight between the pump outlet and the supply fitting. I did need to put the pump quite low in the holder and use a hose clamp around the holder but it picks up a few mm lower in the tank (which was more or less clean btw). Job took 2 days the first time (didn't have required tools) 2 hours the second time, including much stuffing around/trial and error.

Which ever way you go, just be very careful of the rubber/plastic isolator/mounting bushings- they split easily.
