OK. I've posted a few threads here!
the saga began when the car wouldn't start. Mechanic changed fuel pump relay switch. But no luck! Mecahanic lowered the fuel tank to check the fuel pump.It seemed Ok. He called an Auto electrician who found some bad connections in the fuse box. He fixed that and changed a faulty petrol cut off switch. It worked!!! All runs well! But I now get a fuel smell just behind the back wheel on the drivers side, which makes it's way into the cabin. What could that be? I can't see any fuel on the ground! just a smell! Could it be badly clamped hoses??? Thanks! From dissapointed ford focus owner! |

Would help if you kept this all in the same thread, as it is hard to help with tiny bits of information.
Don't know on this one. Obviously to do ith the petrol filler or tank, given its location. Is it all the time, or only when you fill up?

Actually it was when I filled up on a hot day with Unleaded 95. I just drove it this morning, fairly cool and no smell!

Try not filling the tank completely. You may be over-filling the tank, and getting some excess venting

Ok! Mechanic tightened some hoses and said something about an overtight O-ring. But things seem back to normal!
