Hi all,
I've been looking round at cars for about $5K and found a TX5 at a small yard for $4K. Nothing seems to be wrong with it, all original badges and stickers, starts as soon as you touch the ignition, seems to have had a solid service history, only been serviced at 3 different places, all around Brisbane. It will mainly be used for around town driving and the occasional trip up the coast to maybe as far as Bundy (450Ks or so). I took it for a spin down the freeway and all seemed good, still got plenty of go and no bad sounds coming from anywhere. It's recently got new struts and battery. I forgot to check when it last had the timing belt(?) changed, but will before I buy. The only thing is it's got 225K Kms under the belt and I'm wondering if it will turn into a money pit. I've read some threads about this here but they were from a couple of years ago, just wanting some updated opinions. I've got family yelling at me saying that this would be a bad buy. Plus it has a sun roof ;) Any help would be great! TNKS! G |
