Angry Do Not Go With This Company!

Gettin a new windscreen?, If any of you are, DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! theres a place called Discounted Windscreens 97254533 or the glen waverley branch 98861177, They short changed me of $10 and wouldn't admit it, and the manager woudn't say anything exepect for 'Yep, ok, cant do anything', and when the guy installed it, he wiped the glass shards off my bonnet with a cloth :S ( real rough and quick) leaving scratch marks on my bonnet,
I dun care where any of you guys go, but my advise is steer clear from there.

Stick with "Really expensive windscreens" in Toorak.

You might need to sell the car though to afford it...

oh wait...that won't work.

Sorry to hear of your unfortunate predicament though.

Somebody should start a, "Who is a reputable and quality replacer of windscreens" thread.

People should share their experiences.

I'm a fool, so I shall not start a thread.

I remember my sister was getting new windscreen seals put into her 1970 Corolla many years ago. A mob in Glen Waverley told her that the way they would do it is to get a guy in the car who would kick out the windscreen and if the guy on the outside didn't catch it and it broke, she'd have to buy a new windscreen. Maybe it was these guys. She didn't give them her business.

What if the guy who was kicking the windscreen happen to hurt his leg? Would your sister have to pay his medical bills as well? :

Mighty mighty MIGHTY dodgy mob they sound like.

I live in Glen Waverley. I am not even aware of these places.

How about we make this thread useful and some people suggest some good places they've dealt with regarding windscreens. If there are 5 more posts that are purely bashing, I'll start the damn thing up myself just to help each other out.

And regarding today's Herald Sun voteline, I do think the police took it easy on the G20 protesters

Don't quote me on this, but I think I paid $200 odd for a new windscreen with O'brien a year ago.. the guy who did it did a really good job.

In some instances, you get what you pay for :P

call the guy who replaced your windscreen, report a dud address for him to rock up to, and when he gets there, throw bricks at his truck (its bound to have large sheets of glass on it)

yeh i feel for you, its not exactly a minor thing paying 175 and some employee scratching your your paintwork. and to be short changed after that, i should think they may as well kiss their business goodbye.

It may also be that you didn't see the scratch before and as they were around that area you looked over that specific area with a magnifying glass and noticed it just at that moment....

We get this all the time with repairers that we deal with, customer has an accident, has their car fixed, drives off and hears a rattle............

Now that rattle was there before they went in to get their car repaired and the rattle has nothing to do with the minor accident BUT they blame it on the accident and that it should of been fixed and paid for by the insurer.

When your car goes into being repaired anywhere and comes out you become more aware to things that you have become use to with your car in previous years....

NOW I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED HERE but I can guarantee you this sort of thing happens all the time.

BUT still they short changed you $10.............

I second that! After getting bombarded with al this crap about "quality" when I walked in the place my brand new screen LEAKED the first time it rained. I was passing it on my way to work so I dropped in, showed them my wet trousers and told them what I thought of them. They fixed it and all was good until the rear view mirror fell off and their rough method of installation rendered it uselss. Young bloke did come out to my house and fix it a year later so I will give them that much. Hasn't fell off yet in 6 years!!

Default Windscreens

I've had bad experiences too with dodgies, but I got a windscreen from Road Runner Windscreens and they came out, did a fantastic job and guarenteed that the windscreen wouldn't leak if I replaced the seal as well because it was old and hard. Unreal job, fantastic communication and left the car clean and undamaged. No, I don't have shares in their company, but I'll buy some if they ever go on the stock exchange!!

Nerd at Super Cheap checkout tried to screw me for 10 cents on Saturday. He took the 10c out of the till and put it under the counter. Tried to distract me by asking me if I wanted a receipt. I had to ask for my change. If he did that to 10 people he would make a whole dollar. I sugessted that he must be really hard up to take 10 cents. When I complained he gave me 20 cents. I will be try not to spend it all at once.

instaed of dissing him here take photos of the dammage done and complain to the MVRIC or what ever the victorian equivalent is they have these bodies to resolve thes issues if the damaged your bonnet they are liable for repairs don't get mad get even but do it legally outing suppliers in a thread like this should be a last resort after all other avenues are exhausted, you might find that once you get the ball rolling that he becomes more willing to negotiate

Eagle Windscreens do a top job..

I think they're based in penrith but go most places in Syd.

Quick, On time and clean finish, most importantly, cheap.
