Will a tickford snorkel off an AU fit onto a EL or will it need to be modified?

Not sure about the AU but I just went to Ford and bought a BA XR8 snorkel and went on with minimal drama just a bit of force and one bolt, for 30 bucks can't argue!

It'll fit on no problem, all you need to do is drill a hole for one of the screws. This has been covered countless times so a search will find all the details.
