G,day all,
In a footbrake application, only concerned with maximum holding power on the start line, so relatively cold brakes, what is the best type and brand of disc pads? Thanks! Paul |

I am not sure on the best pads I just use a Race brake pad from Race Brakes Sydney he is a site sponsor and know his brakes. Also I found braided brakelines a great upgrade for holding consistent pressure and a good superdot 4 or 5 brake fluid.

You dont want to use too low grade a pad thats going to fade super quick if breaking from 120+mph ( unsure of the application your requiring ) .
1 Reason i went soltted rotors up front ... Can stop from 200km/h without and issue . Just using a Lucas Pad supplied with myy RDA slotted rotors .

Cold braking - you want stock pads. Hot braking you want racing pads. Take your pick

Don't forget the rear pads probably warm up pretty quick on the burnout...

Thanks for the replies, stopping at the other end is no probs, am going to go with some std trw pads, supposedly good in this application? Stopping from 130+ mph, going to rebuild rear calipers as well. Cheers |

Hi. When I last engineered a car the engineer advised standard type pads as metal king type pads would fail the first 2 or 3 stops while cold but the drop off in performance on the 5th test with standard pads would still pass. Cheers MD
