Default Help getting files of a dead Hard Drive.

Hi Guys,

I've been given a computer from a work mate to fix.

It needed a new powersupply & it looks like the Hard Drives dead.

The bios picks it up but it says 'Insert System Disk' when booting up.

I thought I'd put it in another PC as a Slave Drive, copy his files off it, format it & reinstall Windows, the other PC picks the Hard Drive up when booting but won't let me access it either.

The hard drives an Western Digital 80GB & I've tried downloading the Windows Drivers but still cannot access it.

Next I thought I'd boot off the XP CD & go into Recovery Mode, it shows the Hard Drive but says it cannot access it either.

Any idea's of what could be wrong with it? Or does anyone know an expert who could repair the Hard Drive to get the Info off it? It has my mates Wife's school work on it & says its very important to get it off it & would pay a few hundered dollars to get it!
