I adopted a Dog today from a mean owner who didnt want him anymore...
He is a Bull Mastiff and is 13 months old His Current name is Pizzel but i dont know if i should leave it as that or change it... If I do change it, I was thinking about Jack... I have until Tuesday to decide By the way, according to Dictionary.com Pizzel means: 1) The penis of an animal, especially a bull. 2) A whip made from a bull's penis. What do you think? Laura

Thats a crap name. Jack isn't much better. Take after stroker. Call him something like cleveland, windsor, shelby, henry. Good Ford names.

If you leave it and call him, and he relates that sound to cruelity, then probably not good, e id change it so his new name name when called means good things not bad memories.

Gota name him Bruiser... its just a bull mastiff thing. Or after your fav alcoholic beverage. I have whisky the rotty. But also i've had other pets with alco names... Brandy the shetty, Vodka the cat, Ruski the lizard, Baccardi the magpie and my best mate Bundy the bucky pony whos competition name is Budweiser.
.. No i'm not alcholic, the names just really suited the animals. Just an idea if your looking for other names masters24

I dunno, So many names!!!
I know Jack sounds a bit boring, but the 2 guys I live with dont really want a dog, and if I name him Jack (after Jack Daniels) then it might help to break down the barriers... Anyone else for names? I'll have pics up as soon as I can work out how to get them off of my man's camera!!

imho and Im no dog trainer but at 13 months I dont think changing his name is a good idea.. Pizzle is different, and its what he is used to hearing

I quite like the name Jack after the drink. I'm not a big fan of dogs, I guess it was all the filthy unwashed ones my mates had back in Victoria that put me off them.

He's so CUTE!!!
My dog Fudge was rescued from the pound. The guy knew nothing of her history, and didn't even know her name. We had chosen a name but I didn't think it suited her (Gypsy) and then while we were signing paperwork, my daughter said Fudge. All of us liked it straight away. It only took her a day or two to realise that it was her new name. New name for a new start, as someone else has said. Oh and Pizzle... I had never ever heard that expression before, and then last night I read it in a book. Freaky.
