So its bad enough now but then I find out it cost them 0.7c to make a cookie and they sell them for 85c what is that like more then 8500% mark up! They have also decide lets get rid of the subway club cards so we can scam people a little harder which is even more annoying they say 'fraud' but we all know its cause they want more money who do they think they are tricking.
They have finally made me crack today when I went into the Brisbane store to see... You have to order on a computer now! You have to get on this gay *** touch screen machine and select your sub and then it prints out a receipt and they call your name.. sounds like just another way to cut back on staff. Wasn't the point of subway that you got to watch them make it? Now you sit down and wait for you number to be called out to get a flat pathetic sub that wouldnt pass for food in a third world country. The most annoying thing of all about the machine is its countless attempts to upsize your meal, add on bacon + extra cheese do they need to flog us anymore with their rip off addons.
Thats my Rant... I HATE SUBWAY!

Well seeing that you are studying marketing, you'll understand that retailing and corporate culture is all about profit. You'll also understand that anything that can be done to lower the unit price will be done. So a 600 buck screen can be used to reduce employee numbers by one, great... profit after 2 weeks.
What concerns me more is the bullying employees go through to make these things happen by bosses. I've managed to get out of coles recently, and thank god. I was sick of asking for flybuys, discount fuel vouchers and chocolates. Really enjoyed the abuse i got for doing my job too.
What ИИИИes me off more is how ingrained it is in our society.
