Interesting little law. How is what people publish on the net about politicians leading up to an election any different to what we say throughout the rest of the time the government is in power? I'm not really fussed about it myself being an Adelaidean, but then I don't really comment on politics as it's all wrong anyway.

But more the point, SA Libs need to not back this dangerous stuff. Shame they have done so, for now. Media is not in the habit of printing knowingly at least, defamatory letters that I know of. Nope, this is an attack that forces media to name 'letters to the editor' scribes, so party faithful can no doubt take actions, even by writing party feedback correspondence directly to the person, you'll see. More than that though, it seeks to shut people up, to intimidate some well meaning persons who have something, possibly quite valid to say. This is another attack on free will. |
