Re: What made you feel good today?
Just found and had a feed at a fish shop in Williamstown for my weekly good fish n chips(a 20 k drive for me) , hmm flake that isn't greasy and melts in your mouth........ Beeeeeuuuuudiful !!!
1 a syme St Williamstown if anyone gets in that neck of the woods and wants to try them :). |
I officially, as of this very moment, have no debt and a few grand savings...which puts me about $30k ahead of where I was at the start of my break this time last week. Been a busy, but very productive break!
Do have to admit that making financially smarter adult decisions has a sucky element to it...but I feel more at ease financially than I have for a long time :D |

Been delivering to the same area since 2008.
Was asked this morning to cover an area I had'nt done for at least 10 years. Assumed I would struggle. Blitzed it and was heading home at 2:00pm :dance |
Re: What made you feel good today?
I had time this morning so I made a couple of PB&J sandwiches and packed a bottled water and a pack of Famous Amos cookies. On my drive in to work I took a detour. I slowed down to make sure I hit a certain red light and had to stop. The man I was hoping to see was there today so I lowered my window and he came over. I gave him the bag lunch I packed for him and told him it's fresh bc I just made it. He was so happy, he was speechless. He actually didn't say anything to me but I saw his eyes and he was surprised.
He's not invisible to me. |

Re: What made you feel good today?
After having a crappy day a customer who came and used his loyalty voucher tonight left after having used it and realized he had used it last time he was in and it hadn't been marked off . He called me and told me that and came back and paid for his service . It made me feel good that there is still some honest people with integrity around I haven't seen many lately . So I have issued him with a bonus voucher as a good will . Cheers Gary

Re: What made you feel good today?
Today marks a massive milestone for me. For the last few years I've struggled pretty heavily with depression and used food as a coping mechanism. This had a huge impact on my health, to the point where I was massively obese and at severe risk of heart attack and/or stroke. I was also on my way, rather quickly, to diabetes and all sorts of other medical issues (fatty liver, thyroid issues, heartburn so severe I couldn't sleep and it made me throw up at times).
Life wasn't pleasant, and this only fueled my depression and comfort eating. I tried all sorts of diets and attempted a bunch of times to make physical changes, but I always fell back into the same traps. It wasn't until I admitted that I couldn't do it on my own and started to get professional help sorting out my mental health that I was in a more favorable headspace to do something about my physical health (the two are massively linked!). At Christmas I weighed 121kg when I went to the doctor and was made aware of the severity of my physical health. This was around the time I'd started seeking help for my mental health. By mid March I'd lost 6kg and gotten down to 115kg, but was really in the right headspace now to do something drastic to improve my physical health and way of life. On the 19th of March I started a 12 week intensive diet and exercise program, which I have completed as of yesterday. I now weigh 80.5kg, meaning I've lost 34.5kg over these last 12 weeks and have lost 40.5kg in total since my heaviest. To say I feel amazing would be an understatement! My quality of life, health and fitness have improved immensely and this has only given me more motivation to keep pushing myself. It's my hope that if anyone takes anything from this it's that sometimes you CAN'T make changes on your own, especially when it comes to mental health and depression. It can be debilitating and admitting you need help shouldn't be considered a sign of weakness, it takes huge guts to admit and the benefits far outweigh the cons. Here's some before and after photos showing my progress from the last 12 weeks. https://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/0...4e6801c5d7.jpg |

Re: What made you feel good today?
Big ups to graphicgoose. That is a massive effort, keep going strong mate!
I've knocked off about 8-9kgs since last year simply through moderating my diet and weights. A lot of em :lol I have mostly halved my meals by simple will power and I wait and see rather than rush in for the second serve. I have 8 beers a week these days on average when in years gone by, I'd do a slab and probably more. Makes such a difference. I need to do more cardio but I frankly hate it. I think I've done as much I can without it though because I only achieved a net loss of 100gms this week despite the hardest week of training yet! I'm also going to go on the patches this week. Since I only smoke 1mgs anyway it should be as easy as it gets. Well in theory anyway :lol |
Re: What made you feel good today?
The post from graphicgoose.
Impressive and inspirational. |
Re: What made you feel good today?
Graphic, the only thing missing from your room shots is a nice, blueprinted, Turbo 6, hanging off an engine stand, i.e. where is it :dance
Well done son, keep up the good work. Awesome. |
Re: What made you feel good today?
Yeah, but what made me feel good today was a young lass was parking her car close to the EFTPOS machine downtown. I was next for the machine, but noticing she had left the engine running, I let the girl go first to the machine.
We chatted a bit. As you know, in old times, we could leave our cars anywhere, engine running and wouldn`t think twice. She was young, I hope she doesn`t get ripped off. Maybe someday we can return. Yeah, But I wish it wasn`t technology that stops sly persons that rob cars. King Island, Bass Straight, park car, leave keys in the ignition. Walk away. That is my Australia. |
Thanks everyone for the encouragement and kind words, really appreciate it. I'm stoked that people are finding inspiration in my progress and only hope I can continue to inspire and encourage others in their journeys :)

I've been wearing a fitbit to see just how little I move around and it's now time to lift the bar. Being 51 I'm not expecting the same results, but well done, and thanks for the motivation. |

Re: What made you feel good today?
Im in my young 60's and now work from home, part timeish. Well when I was working for the man I was mid to high 85-90 k. Not huge, but I didn't feel well, and bending over or squating my stomach would get in the road etc.
So anyway I left about 6 years ago and just started having a light breakfast (mainly two slices toast + coffee) and light lunch (say tuna and biscuits or sandwich), just tea or coffee for morning and afternoon tea and whatever for dinner at night, mainly meat and three veg nothing outlandish though. Whenever we go out (mabye once or twice a fortnight) have whatever I feel like. I don't sweat about it, I just go back to it after any blow out, eg visitors or holidays. So over that six years I have slowly dropped to 70kl. This is about mid range of my suposed target weight, and I don't really think I am actually doing anything special, this is just normal now. It was burgers & chips for lunch, milk based coffees (instead of black with a dash), egg & bacon rolls for morning tea all that sort of stuff that put it on. So if your struggling, don't be in a hurry, just change a little something, a bit at a time. All power to those that can do the hard yards though and get it off quick. I feel good these days. |
