My 3 year old wanted to have a go at those toy machines in the shopping centres that have the claw that you drop to grab the prize. Gave him $2 and let him go, and he manged to jag a 30cm tall Buzz Lightyear stuffed toy on the first go. Couldn't beleive it. He lit up like a christmas tree and hasnt let go of his new toy since. Made my day seeing him so happy.

Likewise, I've just booked tickets to Finland for a 3 week language course, followed by a 3 week road trip with friends from Helsinki to Oslo, and then to Germany for a weekend of lapping the Nurburgring.:layrubber

Six weeks ago I took my car in to the mechanic to see if he could fix a faint shudder at around 1200 rpm... It now has a fresh 90,000kms motor in it, but... Insurance has covered it, that makes me feel pretty bloody goooood!

Flew another 1.2 hours solo time today, which means I have now achieved the minimum 5 hours solo prerequisite to be able to get my pilot's certificate. So, next flight, which should be in a fortnight, should be my flying exam :dance

That will be a huge day if I pass. Not sure it will beat my first solo though......

Not having a job where I have to wear freshly ironed clothes, just acceptable as I turn up. Not daggy, just presentable for the work I do. Loving it!

Cheers!

graphicgoose 04-05-2015 12:57 AM

^ one of the reasons I love working in mining. I work in an office on site, but can't remember the last time I had to iron a shirt or buy work clothes :D

This thread seems to have dropped off lately.

Previously I'd posted about starting the Optifast program and having positive results with respects to weight loss. Well when I started the program 9 weeks ago I weighed 115kg...this morning I weigh 87kg.

This is my weight loss graph, with their conservative projected weight loss in red and my actual weight loss in blue.

To say I feel amazing would be an understatement! I haven't felt this good in years! Another 12kg to go before I hit my goal weight, and another 3 weeks on this phase of the program before I slowly start adding proper meals back to my diet and work on forming good eating habits.

Getting off the Spirit of Tasmania and cruising 300km down the middle of Tassie. First really good long run in the wagon. Unfamiliar roads and thick as fog. Felt solid and planted on every curve. I got out in Hobart and my back felt like it could do it all over again. No painkillers required, which is unusual for that length of drive. Super chuffed.

I've only been to Tassie once, last year, and I was super impressed with all the roads and we drove many

Picking up the lunch tab for a table of Army guys. They were in their camos and I asked the waitress if I could pick up their tab for them. I paid their bill and wrote a short thank you for their service...........and my name. I left before they did so they don't know who paid. But I do and it made me feel good inside.
