Hey Gaso, just watching the local news - little town south of Darwin got 500mm of rain in the last 24 hours - for the Oldies that's 20 inches.

Cheers Vincenzo

Re: What made you feel good today?

That's not bad. I have to catch all my drinking water as I'm not on a reticulated supply, so 500mm would have done me good and proper (wouldn't have been able to leave the house but that's another story).

Put some of her regular headache tablets and a glass of water next to her side of the bed. When she asks what is that for you tell her it is for her headache. She will most likely say she does not have a headache. Goody. :evill

Re: What made you feel good today?

Was at VicRoads today to renew my licence.

Whilst waiting for my number to come up I watched a young lad on the other side of the room, walking to exit with his mother and beaming a grin ear to ear. He had obviously just passed his learners permit test. I beamed a grin back at him knowing the significance of what he was feeling.

I'm sure we can all remember that moment that signifies our journey to independence and freedom. :steer

To cap it all off, the wait was short and I even got some pleasant chattiness from the person on the other side of the counter, both rarities in government organisations. :)

I went for a walk early this morning before I did anything else, around 5am. It was quite relaxing to enjoy the cool wind after the heat of the day before.

I have always enjoyed the experience of walking alone at that time of the day. With or without music. It's a good way to clear the mind.

Jack had a hip problem, his hip joints were not formed properly, so he had to be in a special brace for 3 months, which meant no baths , just hand wash & only laying on his back. He coped really well with the brace. He is a little behind in his basic skills like standing , balancing etc. But today he stood up by himself for the 1st time, now he is just showing off. The smile on my & my wifes face was just beaming. To us our xmas come early. Well done jack , we luv ya

The everyday things: ( in the order they occur )
My cat greeting me at the bedroom door when I get up
My missus morning kiss
Driving my car

The today specific things:
2 days of work left
The NAB credited me back the $ that saw an ATM error deduct it from my acc even though $ was actually dispensed, and only 3 working days after it happened.

Well went on eBay looking for cheap lawn mower to cut tenants lawns.. I ended up on Alibaba an Asian eBay.. I bought 10 battery 36v lawn mowers for $100 each delivered.. I sold them local, kept one.. I see the same mower is sold here for $289..So far it has cut 3 lawns.. Admittedly the grass wasn't extremely long.. Only 13Kg and folds up easy in boot.. I'm happy with my investment..

Re: What made you feel good today?

Today I pulled a 15 year old battle worn Victa Corvette with a Briggs and Stratton Sprint 375 (nice Ford reference there) lawn mower out of the shed today. Hasn’t been started for over a year due to its age. Fuel tank empty save for some funky looking junk on the bottom. Gave it a splash of fresh fuel, pushed the primer 3 times and gave the cord a yank. Lo and behold the thing fired first go. Nice little cloud of blue smoke as she warmed up then run like a gooden.

This mower is surplus to my needs now but I can’t bring myself to get rid of it. All the abuse I have subjected the poor thing to over the years, and the amount of money it earned me mowing lawns after school, it still starts first go every time.

It’s amazing how humans get attached to machines, as if they were a living being.
