Gee I love a summer storm! Got our first proper one of the season here today. About 36 deg and then the storm hit. From completely dry to house gutters overflowing in less than 30 seconds! I love the smell of ozone just before the rain comes. And then that fresh smell right afterward.

Already, I’ve been advised the postage label is printed - not too shabby for a public holiday. Reckon this will arrive on Thursday or Friday; it’s only going across Sydney.

Family is back on the lamp post again this morning. Funny to watch them as today they're not taking it in turns to warble, instead choosing to all warble at the same time for a few seconds, then they spend a few seconds all pruning themselves, and then the cycle continues. :lol

Took the XC for a long drive the other week. FMX decided to play up, wouldn't go into third, had to manually move the shifter into 2nd after stopping at lights.
Poor old girl revving it's guts out in 2nd for about 40 kays, sucking heaps of fuel, lucky I have a 120 litre tank.
Finally got my rs into gear and got underneath this arvo. Vacuum hose from the modulator/diaphragm on the side of the box had popped off.
Easy fix, quick drive, all good.
Will have to replace it though, a bit perished, will probably do it again.

Check your modulator for signs of tranny fluid, sometimes they suck fluid vapour through which causes the hose to deteriorate, pay to check your tranny fluid level.

So by no means do i mean to offend anybody. But its the marketing.... well we just got past santas birthday so now its the run up to the easter bunnys birthday.
Ok so maybe thats not exactly how it is, but it seems it is these days. So consumerism in place of the actual religious stuff.

…Hopefully 2,5mg oxycodone will make me feel “good”. Have the most uncomfortable tweaked back I can ever recall, OTC painkillers weren’t touching it. 22 hours a day of lying down in pain gets old quickly.

So early Sept we had water running down the hallway.
Today I filled the 900mm hole I had dug in the side yard to replace pipes.
2 bedrooms had been half concrete floor for all that time too. Carpets went in 3 days before Xmas.
Hallway floorboards has been replaced the week before after 3 attempts to finish.

Nothing like a quick turnaround.
Goddamit.

However, things are almost back to normal.
And I feel good seeing that hole is gone. We have a doggo that would be silly enough to find himself down there.

Will need to bring in some more stones to cover where the hole was but the end is not far away now.
I can get back to my paving job that was left half done.

Whatever injury I inflicted on my back, seems to be fading a little. I managed the most time on my feet with the least pain walking since last Tuesday. At the lowest point I was lying down for 22 out of 24 hours. It’s given me new respect for people who push on contributing, despite serious physical hindrance.

I know it all comes down to experience, but I found relief from a chiropractor. Of course, like anything you need a good one

100% I’ll happily trust one after a GP consultation and whatever tests/imaging they request; want to minimise risk of overlooking a left-field situation like damaged vertebrae, growths, infection.

Very mindful of my mate’s backache and gut pain that was under-investigated until he was hospitalised and diagnosed with a tumour that had spread from his prostate to ribs and large intestine. Just a particularly rotten time of year to get nailed as the usual contacts are away until the 4th/5th and ERs are getting smashed.

Just threatened to punch a neighbour’s lights out. Probably not overly community-minded, but he has been making a persistent nuisance of himself by walking into the backyard whenever he feels like it. Subtle and repeated requests to respect private space have been ignored.

Buy a goat. Ive seen plenty of videos of goats on ropes pretending to be at the end of the rope making people beleive it then ramming said person because they were tricking.

Big rope, secured at a post at one end, curled around then other end under bush with a large bowl of water nearby.
Add to the effect by having a half eaten bone laying next to rope at bush.

Often used this technique when free camping in semi dodgy places.

It’s a quarter acre of Sydney suburbia. I try to be amicable and have time for people in the neighbourhood but there’s always likely to be one or two who “don’t get it”. The irony is that our duffer has a second property with the backyard fenced off in 1800 high Colorbond to keep people out.

I know how you feel as neighbours can be difficult at times, the one next me to took offence when I asked her politely to keep her little yapper quiet at night, she has not spoken to me since. Has been seven years of bliss from that day.

The beehives are all prepared for official Varroa inspection now - honey frames have just been removed. Lots and lots of really shirty bees - shame the troublemaker didn’t come a bit later. :D

I don’t care if he dribbles in my ear while I’m out the front, or comes to the front door within respectable hours. If he can follow such guidelines it’s not a problem to know him - but the onus isn’t on me at this point.
