I think that the bf xr6 looks more agressive especialy at the front. One thing i would like ford to do, is to make the xr6 version at least 200kw. Therefore holden would be lieing in the xr6's dust! e

Considering that this is a FORD forum I think we all know the outcome of this thread.

Drive them both... Test drive.
This is a Ford Forum. Not the best place to get un-biased opinions! Go the XR!

lol of course the majority of people here, are going to choose the XR6 over the SV6.
It's a FORD FORUM!!!!. That being said, I would probably take the XR6 over the SV6. Although I do like the look of the SV6. |

I would take the sv6 because the commo has a much nicer interior and every second car is an xr these days so it'd be nice to be in something different for a few years

Need to ask that question on a Nissan or Mitsubishi forum etc. Asking that question is like asking the same question on LS1 forum actually should run a poll on both forums & divide answer by 2. But I agree would be great if BF Mk II XR6 was 200 kw. Have have not read a heap about VE SV6 as yet but is that 200 kw? My unbiased opinion would be drive em both & look at what you get for your dollars change over etc. Then make your decision based on those factors. Some Holden supporters would never drive a Ford (that was probally me a while ago but im glad I drove my Ford & em vary happy with it). Im sure there would be Ford supporters that would never drive a Holden.

I vote for the XR too!
Considering the BF rose from 182kw to 190kw would suggest 200kw aint far off. Although i am glad they aren't going with the BF2 front on the XR/FPV cars. ahhh that new front looks like a small brick building in the back yard with the sole purpose of waste management! |

SV6 all the way, looks so much more euro and refined, the BF looks like an EA now, sad but my opinion only.

Just for some actual fact
Wheels magazine did a camparision between BA XR6 4 spd Auto Vs VZ SV6 5 spd Auto The BA one the comparision (if it was a transmission comparision - SV6 would have won hands down) I think the BA won in a large part to its more compliant & better suspension set up. The same magazine did a camparision when BF was realeased. BF XR6 fitted with ZF 6 Spd vs VZ SV6 Auto 5 spd The BF won hands down. Its obvious that the VE is a car with massive improvements on the VZ though. I voted SV6 as just on looks alone I think it looks even better than BF XR6 thats looks very good. I just cant see the BF could be quite as refined as VE as its a whole new platform. All that said if Ford was alot more price competitive than Holden which I feel they may have more margin to play with. Im sure the SV6 might only a few % better over all (cant see there would be alot in it)

I'm a Ford man through and through, but honestly I think that between the two pic's above the the new VE commo in silver look's HOT, I like the XR's but the VE just look's good, maybe it's because it's new and the BA/F is older and I'm used to the look, but honestly I like that pic above off the VE.

I would say the bf xr6.
I love the styling of the front bar of the bf and it looks sleeker then the ve. The ve looks like an astra rather then a commodore im my opnion. It looks too small to be a family car.

Maybe it's because off the aggresive stance the VE has in that pic and the BF is taken from a lower angle and look's like it has a 4wd stance, I think it's just the pic's but in those pic's the VE look's better.

I still think the BF looks better. I wasn't that impressed when I saw the VE range in the flesh last week.

I hate cars with big bodykits that are undertyred. That said i think in some pics thats what appears to be happening to the VE (it maybe just the stance) although it isnt a bad looking car, id prefer the BF although it looks dated next to the VE

What a bloody stupid place to ask such a question
However... During my research process for a new car recently I test drove a few cars, including SV6, 380 VRX as well as a Lexus and BMW. No doubt the Lexus & BM felt a little more luxurious, and were definitely quieter than any Oz vehicle I drove, but to justify the extra 40K plus was totally impossible ! A little less tyre noise, and a few more buttons to get confused by aint worth 40K plus in my book ! The BF certainly compared though to them in "feelable" power and handling, not to mention the loads of extra space. See..... I'm not a die hard Ford fan.... but I'm certainly sold on the BF, along with **** loads of those sensible souls buying them. Sure, I've spent some $$$ on mods since buying, but the basic vehicle is already world class, and with a few goodies added becomes a world beater ! BTW.... 190 kw is a distant memory for me, with well over 200 kw being generated (170 plus rwkw), and still a little further tuning to be sorted. In my mind there is simply nothing else out there at present that can compare in the same class, without spending **** loads more for very little gain. Although my next will definitely be a MK 11 BF XR6T..... Must have the "Ford" bug after all :Reverend: Cheers Tony
