Series 1 have a unique bonnet with the line down down the middle. This bonnet is on all series 1 au's (except fairmonts), and also on series 1 2 & 3 utes and xr's.
All series 1 cars with this bonnet (except xr's) have interchangable grills. The xr grill is part of the front bar.

Series 2 saw all cars getting the au1 fairmont bonnet, with more of a bulge and no line down the middle. All au2 grills were similar, badge moved to centre (instead of above), but the fairmonts had chrome around them.

As far as know there was no change for series 3.

In summary, the cars with the centre line bonnet and smaller grill are:
- au1 fortes and futuras
- all series xr's
- all series utes

All other cars have the larger grill and higher bonnet without centre line.

Hope that didn't confuse ya more!

I thought that the T-series grilles were part of the actual bumper, there wasn't a seperate bumper & grille, it was just all one unit together. Therefore you'd have to buy the whole front section to get the grille looking authentic.

Unless of course you're referring to the C2R style grille (check out pics of my car in the link in my signature) which should go on an AU provided it has the higher bonnet, I don't think it would fit if you had a low-bonnet series vehicle.

this is the s2 ts50 bar, i think there is one for the s1 with a lower grill...but im not sure. i belive the hawk grill is better suited for the low series bonnets

the only t-series to have a removable grill is the TL50 because of the fairlane front end
