do t5 gearboxs from a 6 or v8
differ from one another. besides the obvious like bellhousing. was looking at a gearbox from a 6cyl el fairmont to use behind a v8,but am not sure if i should just get one from a v8.it is for a conversion to a x series falc. |

The T5's from au v8 onwards are stonger then earlier versions. They'rer the strongest passenger vehicle T5 to be made globally and use a hardened mustang gear clusters for both main/layshaft.

from what iv'e been led to beleive in pretty much every model ford, holden or valiant from early ones to late ones the six cylinder boxes have a shorter front shaft, if you don't already have a box buy the right one, but if you do alrady have a box ring castlemaine rod shop they will meke a bellhousing to mount a six box to a V8 for about 3-400 dollars

dellow also make bellhousing to suit 6cyl T5 behind clevo's. They also do units for clutch conversion to hydraulic utilising 6cyl reduction starter on passenger side..also around the $400 mark

Hey guys, I bought a t5 tremtec gearbox that came out an 6cyl AU falcon, I was told it would fit my EL xr8 but apparently it won't because the input shaft is to small. What should I do? I already have the v8 bellhousing. So I don't want to go castlemaine. Can I just change the input shaft and the gears? Can I put new v8 gears and shaft into 6cyl box? Any help would be much appreciated.
