Default Throttle Position Calibration

Can somebody please tell me how to calibrate the throttle position sensor, I have the manual on cd and all it tells me is how to remove and refit same, it does not tell how to calibrate it. Sorry guys it is on a 2002 au 6 cylinder auto.

no calibration required, it's all done by the computer

Thank you for that Mr Hardware, I had been told that I had to recalibrate it every time you disconnected the battery, that is why I came to someone that can put me on the right track.

every time you disconnect the battery, the ECU resets itself.
Thats probably what they meant.

Yep, and the reset procedure that speeds the relearning process of the ECU.

small question on resetting ecu. says put car in gear for a manual, i assume the clutch would have to be in, which kinda means the car is in neutral

Indeed. I actually got that one from another member, so am not really sure what he meant by that one! LOL!

As long as the few minutes with the aircon off and on are done in a manual, it should go okay.

i suppose you could put it in gear with the clutch released and just idle roll down the road for two minutes

Selecting drive is to let the ECU learn idle under load.

Same for turning on AC.

If you have a manual, the only load under idle it needs to learn is the AC.....

When it says to put the car in gear, I've always turned the highbeams on.

Remeber hearing that from someone a while ago.
