Default First night on the road...

Well last night I went for a cruze in town to celibrate and I stoped in at a servo were a Magna AWD cop car was and I walked in to get some Power Aide and they sussed my car out...

Any way as I was pulling out of the servo a high way patrol XR8 went past me then turned around then turned around on me at strated following me...

Anyway they flashed there lights so I pulled over and as I looked in the back seat my friends brither wasn't were his belt(he is like 24 or something) and I told him to put it on and just got it clipt in befor the copper got to the window and asked for a RBT after that (I hadn't had none) they checked my car for defects or something...

So yeah it scared the jezubz out of me...

Cops can be scary, but all you have to remember is: If they show you respect, you show them respect. They have a job to do. The main reason they pick on P platers is because they don't wanna see anymore kids wrapped around poles and killing themselves.

I know it's only a small percentage od P platers that are that stupid, but we all get put into the same basket.

Oh wait, I'm off my P's Woot!

Newie on a Friday nights. The coppers get pretty stirred up, they love to give P-platers a shake up and being a Red P-plater in a modded EA you unfortunately are Public Enemy No1.

Your only options
1. Be a good boy (to a degree) and treat coppers with respect when they pull you over and just relax and take it easy when they do pull you over
2. Drive stock, dull boring car- ie White Camry with Hubcaps
3. Dont drive on a Friday/ Sat night
4. Hide in basement until you are off your P's

if u say "Yes sir. Im sorry Sir" etc kleep calling them sir, it makes them feel good and you get the same respect back.

I got pulled over for a silly thing and the cop goes "what the **** was with that"
i said, " sorry sir i dont usually do that sort of stuff, i do that stuff at calder or heathcote drags and winton raceway usually" (still had my winton sticker on) and he could have taken my car but instead gave me a fine. show them that you are sorry for what you have done (and bloody mean it too) and they will be more forgiving

i've been pulled over twice since i've had my p's (little over a month) .. as long as you know you've done nothing wrong, you shouldn't be worried

first time: car was dirty, threatend with impoundment (i know they can't)

second time: breatho test (no front bumper, they didn't say anything - was waiting for a defect hehe). got a bumper on now though.

.. just be nice and you won't have any dramas :P

bloody coppers!i havent been pulled up before but they have turned around at 1 in the morning and followed me for about 5 mins, i was just driving down the highway normally, they had no reason to pull me up so they just turned off!
still, seems like coppers go for the picky things like cars being too low! wtf! im not really sure how a car can be too low!it dosent affect your speed and it doesnt affect anyone else!

cheers

coz it affects the drivability of the car...

speed bumps etc...

also stiffer suspension can reduce handling on the road.. specially in the wet...

Awhile ago a cop pulled me over, I was dessy dave for the night. He too down my licence, gave me a bretho and went to look on the computer to look for something wrong or just make me sweat. Gave him the yes sir ok sir and everything was fine. I was nervous cause I was driving like an asshat a block before trying to get a mate to pull over , high beam indicators and hazard lights :

If your lucky you get a good one.

Back when i had my P's i used to get harrassed all the time in my car ( 1965 HD Holden).
I couldnt go out in it on a Friday or Saturday night without getting ouled over at least once each night but they couldnt get me for anything any of the times.
This was down in Cessnock NSW and for the whole 12 mths it was hell.
