Interesting watching the GraysOnline auction last night with a few old Falcons on the lot...

A 6 cylinder XE ESP made close to 46k including taxes. Wouldn’t have seen that even 5 years ago.

A 84 XE ESP replica made close to 34k including taxes.

A 77 non matching number XC coupe made 96k including taxes.

Plenty of love out there still for the Falcon it seems.

Those prices bring tears to my eyes Rob when I consider the falcons I owned and the prices I sold them for over the years. As they say hindsight is a wonderful thing ...lol

Does anyone know if those sales actually go through, do they report on clearance %'s etc.

Those two XE's examples are ludicrous unless they were 100% concours and all genuine parts etc.

The 6 cylinder in particular, was it a AIT turbo or something?

The silver over charcoal XE ESP was an early 82 car. Nothing special imo, just a 6 cylinder auto with no power windows or anything. About as basic as an 82 ESP can be compared to the V8 versions in 82. Was very tidy though.
There has been a couple of 6 cylinder XE EsP’s sold recently for over 40 k.
351 versions now are pretty much over 100k if you can find one.
302 4 speed sold last week over 80k iirc.

I knocked back a white over charcoal XE ESP back in the early 2000's because it was a factory 6, with a 302 conversion. Didn't want a non-genuine V8, and it had that awful sierra tango? interior colour when I wanted the grey. Wanted 4k for it

Can't believe even the 6's are worth that much now. Crazy.

I bought a ZG Fairlane 351 about 1981 for $500, sitting forlornly at the back of car yard, 11 months rego, neglected and bit rough. Drove it until the rego was due and sold it for $600.
Thought that it was a great deal then. Winner, winner.

Wow.

That one is quite a cool example as it has the lighter vinyl roof, purple (what was name again?) with saddle interior. Pretty individual, "Grampa Sports" as my bro says about the 'GS' pack.
