My 100,000 kms service is coming up soon. And I wanna get most of the basics done just before I take it in to get serviced.

Let us know how it goes ;)

I bought bosch leads and they didn't clear the intake when plugged in the coil pack (no elbows) They had AU II written on the box too

Took them back and got some top gun, much better.

a regular service on a car should not be anything out of the ordinary.

As of late I had plenty of cars dropped in for work to be carried out, such as car alarms, central locking, stereos, neons, wheels, you name it, but when i get the car to work on, i notice that they havent been serviced in years ...

today i had a car, which i supposed to install a car alarm and central locking kit, but i ended up spending most of the day servicing it and IMPORTANT stuff ...

People please note that:
- water is NOT a good coolant
- oil needs to be changed before it becomes water and smells like fuel
- brake fluid needs to flushed every now and so often
- air filters need to be changed before they become a solid brick
- degrease engine before you can bore for a new oil source
- clean battery terminals before you need a hammer and chisel
- use radiator flush before you pull solid pieces of iron out of the cooling system
- Throttle bodies need to be cleaned before you can find a mount everast in it
- fuel system need to be flushed before injector clog up and run the engine lean
- fuel filters need to be exchanged before you can find the simpson desert in them
- spark plugs need to be changed before the melt
- dizzy point need to replaced before you run on 2 cylinders

and to top it off, the owner admited to know about the overheating problem for over 6 months but never bothered about fixing it, so he has overheated the engine on a daily basis for 6 months now. it was a simple relay failure ...

sorry my rant for a solid days of work which was very well avoidable ...
