Default 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS vs. 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T vs. 2010 Ford...

It appears the Camaro SS is the winner in this comparo. Coyote ought to fix that.

I'm kind of impressed with the new GT's acceleration times, which should improve quite a bit when it gets the new 5L.

Those yanks get awesome times out of their cars. 4.9 0-60 for the Mustang is brilliant. Coyote will make it a lot faster. I was surprised to see the Dodge Challanger only get the 5.7litre. I thought it was supposed to have the 6.1L?? Would have been a much better comparo if that was the case.

SRT8 has the 6.1L

Why is the mustang Gt so, well, retrained in the power stakes? 230kw's is fairly low, when our own XR8 has 290kw...

The Mustang has almost a litre less capacity and doesn't have quad cams thats why it is "only" 315hp.

Jeez remember the days when 300hp was a high power output for a V8....

Mustang had a 4.6 litre engine, Challenger had a 5.7 litre Hemi, and the Camaro had the 6.2 litre LS3 in it.

The mustang had the smallest engine by over a litre. Mustang was also the lightest of the three...

Look which car performed the best on the skidpan. 0.95g for the Mustang!

I've been saying it for years - the live rear axle is not necessarily a bad thing. Simple, can dial in good Anti-Squat, no stupid camber gain under acceleration...

Skidpans are usually totally smooth, so live axles aren't usually disadvantaged, and the considerably lower weight of the Mustang makes a massive difference.

On a bumpy road IRS takes the advantage back.

Yes, I will concede that the handling is not as good on a bumpy surface... like most of the roads around here...

Yeah fair enough. I guess what I meant was that I didn't know they were releasing any Challengers that weren't SRT8's. It would have been a much better comparo if the SRT8 was used instead.

I think the interior in the Challenger looks really boring. So I would go the Camaro or the Mustang, and I would only consider the Stang with the 5.0.

They do the Challenger in 3 Trim Levels:-

SE V6 Auto only
R/T 5.7 Manual and Auto
SRT-8 6.1 Manual and Auto
