Default Recommeded Exhaust shops in Melbournes S/E Suburbs

I am in need of an Exhaust place in SE suburbs of Melbourne.

I have just had my car serviced and my cat converter is falling to bits so I won't to get a full system put n but am not sure of any decent shops around me. I am in Ferntree Gully. Hope you can help.

^^ would also be interested in other's opinions....

I have heard good things about 'Performance Exhaust' in Ringwood.....but are there any other places??

I can very highly NOT RECOMMEND Waverley Exhaust (near cnr of Blackburn & Ferntree Gully Rds) - sent a couple of emails to them asking questions, and basically got told to stop wasting their time etc etc etc......customer service is not exactly high on their list of priorities!

As I spoke about in this thread: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11250423

I'm also interested if anyone knows any good places they have been to?

I went to Unique Exhaust in Bayswater for my BF XR8 Ute all I want is two pipes from my centre muffler one to go over the diff and straight out with twin tip and one to go around the spare with twin tip and I got quoted $550 when I can buy a full cat back for $800.

I've heard a system on a BA XR8 done by performance exhaust in Ringwood and it sounded tops! Yet supposedly pricey.

I went into Hillside, on Burwood hwy just b4 dorset rd the other week to pick u a piece of pipe. I started talking about a cat back for the FG (GT). The guy asked me if it was a 260 or a 290. I told him it was a 315 (FG), he looked at me puzzled. "yeah, but is it a boss 260 or 290 engine" he replied. "NO, FG, it's a 315" says me, even more puzzled look from him..... He began to tell me it would HAVE to be either a boss 260 or 290. No such thing as a 315.

He had no idea. so i don't think i'd be going there.

And Vince the owner just got rid of his Black VE SS ute and replaced it with a Black FG XR6 Turbo on 20"s - went there on Saturday for some info

Hillside did some cheap quick jobs for me but recently havent been impressed

Really is not brain surgey to fit an exhaust on an AU - its who ever is the cheapest............

Do some research first as to what you want, what extractors, what car, waht mufflers etc etc............

Look at prices on eBay then when you see how much you can get the for on ebay ask around and get a quote fitted - easiest way to see if your being ripped off

Nice one, Gary will sort you out. I had an AU XR6 once, he put Pacemaker Extractors on & a Redback Exhaust, couldn't be happier with how good it sounded..
