I havent won myself, but a mate of mine has won 1ST division twice, how lucky is that. Just over $500,00 the first time and just under $750,000 the second time, the great thing about it is none of his mates has ever asked him for a cent and are all just happy for him and his family cause he is just a battler and this has given him the chance to set his family up with a good future.

Tattslotto is like the pokies - if it was easy to win then the companies who conduct these contests would have gone broke years ago. In tattslotto it is 1 in 8,145,060 chance of picking the winning six numbers. Good luck!

Statistically, a well planned bank robbery has more chance of success, then winning a lotto.

Statistically, you also have a better chance of crapping out solid gold nuggets after a night out at the curry shop then you do of winning lotto.

Chances of winning Lotto (6 from 45) 1 in 8,145,060
So if you bought 10 tickets woth 20 games on them each...every week.. your lucky numbers should come up sometime in the next 783+ years. Lets say thats $8 a ticket ($80 a week) x 783 years = $3.25 MILLION!!! Bargain :P

Just think of Powerball though 1 in 54,979,156
Only 5286+ years to wait.

(oh, and no, I dont play.. what a waste.

Was easier in the old days when it was only 6 from 40. That equates to a 1 in 3,838,380 chance in winning.

My grandfather on my dads side won division 1 in the early 50's, was around 100,000 pounds I believe, which was quite a lot back then!

My dad has never bought a lottery ticket since. Still living of proceeds from it in a way.

i won $450 two months ago before that ive only picked up $12-$40 several times,
i saw all my numbers come up one week night and stopped playing for over a year as i thought it was an omen.god it hurt knowing i could have won but never normally bet mid weekk as it costs nearly double.

What a waste of money. You'd get more out of frying the ten bucks in batter and eating it.

Must of been something else he won?... Tattslotto didn't start til 1972.

I remember there was a weekly type 10,000 pound lottery by Tatts, more like a raffle where you needed your ticket to be drawn to win.

Numbers are similar to calculating payout ratios for pokies. The only possible way to come out on top is a hit and run approach. Systematic approach to lotteries is statistically guaranteed to fail.

I only get in on the megadraws.

There was a case in the news a few years ago where a guy won 10 mil ( I think, don't quote me on that) and he owned many many thousands of dollars on child support and was one who avoided his support like the plague. Did everything he could to pay nothing. So the ex took the case went to court for back maintenance, and the judge decided that for his lack of responsibility, he should give his winnings to the kiddies mum. All of it. :

What a loser.

I only go in the Mega Draws. The first time I put one on, $23 bucks. Haven't got anything since, and that was about a year ago.

A bunch of guys do a in-house sweep at work on the big draws only, $5mill or more, I get in on those but thats it.

Unless of course you WIN and then it is a prudent business strategy......

I know of one person who won Golden Casket (previous to lotto) twice in a row (he got investigated too).

Another local here won $9M and blew the lot due to abject stupidity.

Yet another local won $250k in 1979 and has NOTHING to show for it

I personally have won about $3k on scratchies that I have been given as birthday & xmas presants.

My missus once won $8k on lotto.....

But then, it is a numbers game, just like pokies and casinos......

Remember ONLY 50% of gamblers are losers............ :

I only bother about once or twice a year with the huge draws.

The last one I got about $40 odd out of it. So payed for my ticket and a carton of beer.

After that win I was tempted to buy another ticket but what the hell are the odds of winning two weeks in a row!?
