Saw a young man of eastern Euro appearance being interviewed on Sunrise this morning.His attitude was” I don’t care” I won’t get Covid because I’m not 90 y.o.When asked what if you infect your own grandmother?the response was well if it happens it happens bad luck,but I will continue to hug and kiss all my friends.If this is the general attitude among the younger population what hope have we of eliminating this virus!!

On the other hand, I saw in the same news segment on Sunrise of room full of people for the womens world cup soccer hosting win with everyone sitting 1.5m apart waiting for the announcement, and the second the announcement was made, everyone was hugging and kissing. It seems like the MSM like to call out people for their lack of better judgment like that bloke, but wont ever call out double standards like I saw with the world cup soccer announcement.

Maybe because many of the nuffies concerned, (with the new cases, and their contacts) don’t have the App ?

Maybe they think it’s a conspiracy to track them, and maybe put micro chips in their heads ?

Now let me find the interview (on Ch 7) of the dropkick in the Western Suburbs (Broady ?) of Melbourne that thinks it’s too bad if his Grandmother dies (he has to live his life) .... I’m sure he has the App 😂

Is this the same guy?

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-06-...burbs/12393984

Wouldn't surprise me if it's not; seems there are quite a few who think they are above the rules.

Local business owner was on the radio the other day saying that she is not making it compulsory for her staff to stay at home. Instead it is optional. Her reasoning was that the rules were made up to suit suburban Melbourne and that there was no reason for her, in a regional area, to need to do that. She wasn't concerned about a fine.

Unfortunately, like most things, it;s the selfishness of a few that ruin it for most.

That’s the one mate,

Responsible Australians/ Victorian’s shouldn’t think this is funny 👎

We (our family) are making sure our parents and our children’s Grandparents are safe, and WE are doing all we can to protect them (because we and our children love them dearly).

Yet, it’s funny to post about the COVID App not being used.

I suppose it’s all just a leftie / antifa conspiracy and “little flu“ ?

Yeah (it’s a LOL) 👎

FWIW:

Someone I know who I won't identify is an international FIFO. He was stuck overseas when the lockdown began. When he eventually got a flight home he was routed to sydney and isolated for 14 days before being able to come back to brizzy. He told me at the time that while there were some aussies being repatriated the bulk of the plane was Filipino students.

The queensland government claim the borders are closed but it's utterly trivial to get a pass to cross from either side.

I had to go into town a few times during the "lockdown" for legit reasons. I was constantly shocked at how many people were about.

The point of all this is you should not believe the nonsense being spruked on television. People are flying in, people are travelling and people are ignoring the social distancing stuff. Some are taking it seriously but a surprisingly large number aren't.

So as I said earlier - Reffos and BLM protesters

Broadmeadows - Lebonator territory.

I bet Sunbury wishes it got out of Hume now, heard someone from Sunbury complaining they couldn't stay at a caravan park because they got discriminated against because they were from Hume

Tassie to reopen borders in mid-July.

Hasn't been a new case in weeks, the Gov't has done really well imo.

Doubt Vics will be part of that opening though.

Sure you can lock down the ports for the ferry and flights from VIC.

As far as I was last aware there is no restrictions between VIC, NSW, and ACT.

You can deny entry from VIC but what's to stop those going to NSW or ACT first?

How does this work?

No idea how it will work.

I suspect strategies will be in place to avoid what happened in NZ.

If they ban VIC then they will have to ban NSW and ACT. It's just seems logical to me

They announced it was safe to come back to the office about two weeks ago. I've been mostly in the office this whole time.

I walked into the lobby and was thinking WTF when they had put the lane ropes in and out and specifically divided the races between entry and exit. Security guards everywhere.

Even now after that, I have not been in a lift with another person for months

thats the problem we in NZ expected their strategies to be working also

Its costing the taxpayer a fortune for all these ex kiwis that suddenly decide ....ummm i think il go home , theres going to have to be a cut off point where all these ones that got stuck in infected parts of the world are told ....youve had long enough now its time to pay for your own isolation

So why do I keep seeing Tassy registered campervans and caravans driving north up the Hume from Melbourne. ? Usually around the same driving time which coincidences with the ferry arrival in Port Melbourne.

37 new cases (again) for Australia (30 in Victoria, 6 in NSW, 1 in QLD) and no deaths so CMR drops to 1.369% and active cases rise to 533 (7.0%).

1 new case and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.447% and active cases rise to 14.

The UK had 1,380 new cases and 184 deaths so the CMR is down to 14.033%.

Just over 40k new cases in the USA yesterday and 649 deaths sees CMR down to 5.062% and active cases down up 52.9% and the raw numbers are rising. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences.

Other notable points:
Global new cases recorded a new daily high with 190,965;
USA completes 31M tests;
India passes 0.5M total cases;
North America recorded its highest daily new cases with 54,205 - a 20% increase on the previous high ;

Palestine (175), El Salvador (186), Kyrgyzstan (250), Guatemala (800), Ukraine (1,109), Argentina (2,886), Colombia (3,843), and India (18,276) all recorded new daily highs, those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.

We haven't looked at some graphs for awhile so here are a couple to start with.

First up, the 14 day new case numbers for the continents which are all pretty much on the rise although some more than others.

Next is the comparison of cases, population and deaths for the continents. This shows over and under representation with Europe and both Americas being overrepresented as they have higher percentages of cases than their population should have while Africa, Asia and Oceania are under-represented.

The next set are the global new case and death numbers which are both still trending upward.

Almost a third of returned travellers in hotel quarantine in Victoria have been refusing to be tested for coronavirus.

Deputy Chief Health Officer Annaliese van Diemen confirmed yesterday about 30 per cent of international travellers, approximately 5,000 people, were refusing to be tested despite multiple offers during their 14-day stay.

Here's another set of trend graphs that display the 5 day moving average for cases per 100k of adult population. For clarity they are broken up into ranges.

Starting with the largest group (>20 per 100k), there are only three countries that meet the criteria amongst the ones we watch with two of them showing a decline from their peak while the Ukraine is heading in the opposite direction.

There are four in the next group, two of which (Brazil & Moldova) are still trending upward while Panama and Peru seem to have passed the peak.

There are five in this next group with only Russia and Belarus trending downward while the USA looks to be on a steep climb after a steadier period.

Also five in this next group with the UK on a steady downward trend, Sweden being inconsistent and the others trending upward.

The last group has four entrants with India being the only one of them to be trending upward.

Victoria has recorded 41 additional cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the largest single-day increase in almost three months.

Of the total, 15 are cases of community transmission with no known source, eight are linked to new outbreaks, 13 derive from routine testing (and could be attributed to a known outbreak after investigation) eight are from hotel quarantine and 19 are under investigation.

Emergency alerts will be sent from today to people in Keilor Downs and Broadmeadows to inform them of testing in their areas.

There are now 260 cases of community transmission.
