Anyone know how to tell the difference between RS2000 calipers and normal ones. Apparently they're different in some way.
I've got some calipers to rebuild and have been told that they are from an RS. They just look like the normal M16 Girling calipers. Rebuild kits have different part numbers.

They are no different to any other Mk 2 Escort caliper.
They are based on the Capri/twin cam Escort caliper except have metric bolts/brake pipe fittings. They are actually Type 16. M16 are Capri calipers. |

I didn't think they were any different but there is a different rebuild kit for RS2000 calipers to normal ones. Will pull them apart and see.

I'm not sure who makes the kit, but early mk 2 calipers have imperial theads on the brakelines, so its very important to mention the year when ordering the kit. You can tell if your car has these calipers as the brake booster reservoir is rounded, not square.
