Default Baby Seat in 5 door WQ Fiesta

Gday

Im considering buying an 07 Fiesta 5 door for my wife and was wondering if anyone on the forum has one with a baby seat fitted in the rear facing position? I just want to know if it will fit properly, from what I can see there appears to be enough room but I havent tried this out at my dealer yet.

Keen to get some feedback, thanks in advance.

I know from experiance that they fit in the 3 door fine.

I've fit bigger stuff then a baby seat in the back of my old WP Zetec 3-door before, so it should fit in your car no probs.

Baby seats should fit just about any modern 4 door, the problem is how far you have to slide the front seat forward to fit it in, as the front passenger will lose their leg room.

Hi,

Personally i don't think i would use my Fiesta for this. The rear suspension is too hard for me to feel comfortable putting a baby in the back. I suggest you testdrive a Fiesta over a few bumps.

On a serious note, imo the ride quality would be "too firm" for the little one IF you've got suspension mods & lower profile tyres (than stock).

Just scan the road well for nasty potholes and she'll be right.

Thanks again, I plan to keep her Fiesta stock and its only an LX which I found to have fairly soft suspension for a small car.

I also just ordered a BF Cobra GT. That will definately keep me happy in the performance department!!!

We also have a BA Mk2 Falcon company car which in conjunction with the Cobra will be used for 99% of family transport. I suppose I just wanted to know that if on the odd occasion we wanted (or needed) to all travel in the Fiesta we could.

One thing you could do is run lower tyre pressure in the back while the baby is in the car. This will allow the tyre itself to absord more of the bumps. Even a small change can have a rather large difference

But as i say you have a better chance in a bigger car then one of these, and small children seem to fair worse in car accidents.

Neways each to their own, I wouldnt let my wife drive one of these things, or my kids when i have any for that matter!

The Fiesta is a very safe car, Ive seen pictures of crashed fiesta's and they hold up very well.

If you don't want to drive a Fiesta or wouldn't let anyone drive one what are you even doing in this section?

OnTopic: I personally reckon that the Fiesta's suspension IS too hard for a baby. Although the ride is very compliant, there are bumps you feel in the Fiesta that big cars like Falcons glide over.

The vehicle was not eligible for a pole impact test since it did not have head-protecting side airbags. This test can earn eligible vehicles an extra two points.
Your LR is pretty safe, no worries there... heh.
